Where were OBL's guards?
Fox News, CNN

Posted on 05/02/2011 1:12:16 AM PDT by MarkT

Repeatedly, the cable news stations say OBL, his son and two courriers were the only people killed. Did his vaunted guards cut and run? BTW, a 40 minute fire fight is long time sitting in OBL's box. Seals are exceedingly well trained and can shoot the eye out of a mosquito - surely there have been a much higher body count.

That makes me wonder something else — whether Obama was told about the raid before or AFTER it occurred.

Seriously, would YOU trust Obama’s White House with that information? I wouldn’t. And forget the State Department, that place is so full Of Muzzie moles I’m surprised they don’t broadcast the calls to prayer over the loudspeaker system.

OTOH, it is a great truth of life in the military that success mitigates a multitude of sins and it is always easier to get forgiveness than permission.

I think before. Reports are that on Friday, there was an increase in the number of high-ranking military people in the situation room, that the low-level people of the Obama staff were not allowed in or near the meeting, and that people from JSOC were in attendance.

That sound to me as tho it was pre-mission briefing of the POTUS and high level staff.

I’d agree that the State Department was probably kept out of the loop. I would wager that Hillary Clinton was briefed, however, as the op was set into motion, in order that she could deal with any blow-back from Pakistan’s government promptly.

This was clearly kept tight and close. The facts that we succeeded, and that not a whole lot of gee-whiz technological assets were involved, should not be lost on conservatives here. We don’t need more gee-whiz technology in this war. We need more back-to-basics intel, less “co-operation” with our “allies” and a greater reliance on our operators to get these kinds of jobs done. We could have had OBL in 2001/2002, if we had not outsourced the job to the locals and used only our people.

I’m sure in the fullness of time it will come out what was the deciding factor to go at this time. Weather, confirmation, a possible leak within Pakistan, who knows? Let’s just savor the occasional win that goes down so well, try to learn something from it so we can stack success upon success. The problem in DC is that there are so many people who want to get in on this kind of high-profile action that need not apply, but too often end up horning in on the deal.

The body was buried at sea to keep Muslims from making pilgrimages to his grave. It also happened to the Nuremberg war criminals and to Eichmann.

At least Obama didn’t demand that he be captured alive and then tried in NYC. Holder is heartbroken.

Abc reported that the firefight was short but spent the rest of the time looking for intel.

Too bad the Seals can’t keep going and take out a really dangerous group, like the CPC. like the Socialists in Washington.

They lowered him into the sea with weights to hold him down. We’re the good guys; we can afford to give him a proper funeral, because we know God’s going to be just with him.
