WASHINGTON (AFP) Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is dead, and President Barack Obama will announce his death, nearly 10 years after the September 11 attacks in a televised address, a senior US official told AFP.
The official said on condition of anonymity that Bin Laden was dead, but did not provide details of how his death occurred.
Obama was imminently to address Americans in a highly unusual Sunday night appearance on television.

He’s taking the credit....Keeps saying ‘under my direction’...
This may be the reason for the sudden change in honeymoon plans.
I feel less safe tonight than I did last night....
“This morning, at my direction...” Of course, Obama’s going to take credit. Oh, but it’s not about Islam. Oh, no! Ughh!
Is everything ALWAYS about him? Can he not just celebrate the victory for Americans everywhere?
He is such a $hit.

That’s what I was thinking. Me, too. I usually don’t listen to him for more than a minute.
the words “President Bush” will not be uttered tonight, you can take that to the bank.
Ground action, no US causalties = excellent outcome.
I sense the presence of Clark and Chavez ;-) But this empty suit is no Jack Ryan.
Obama just said they got him today, but the reporter just said they killed him last week and used DNA to I’d the body. ????

Obama is taking complete credit for it. He is finally apologizing to the families of 9/11. He’s on a roll about himself. Did not forget to include community in his speech.
I can hear Obama’s voice on the televison in the other room. I am astounded at the number of times he is saying “I”. . .and taking so much credit. He makes me sick. He should have started off praising the military men and women from the United States of America.
You're right. In his speech, Obama says "At my direction,...". Taking credit, even though he was probably at a fund-raiser when someone informed him of the action and the results, and he probably said "who, what, whatever?". He's an idiot.
Oh my, Obama even mentioned the Pledge with God. He wants to be POTUS.
eEspecially when Obama is on record as being against the war when Senator ;-)
Feh. Just another one under the bus. Osama already served his purpose.
