It didnt take long for some of President Obamas doubters to claim the long-awaited birth certificate posted online by the White House on Wednesday had been altered or might be a fake.
But a leading software expert says theres no doubt about its authenticity, and he dismisses claims of fraud as flat-out wrong.
The doubters have latched onto the idea that Adobe Illustrator the premier program for computer graphic artists reveals evidence of document manipulation in the Obama birth certificate. They note Illustrator reveals nine separate layers of the document, and claim its proof the file has been altered.
But thats not so, says Jean-Claude Tremblay, a leading software trainer and Adobe-certified expert, who has years of experience working with and teaching Adobe Illustrator.
You should not be so suspicious about this, Tremblay told FoxNews.com, dismissing the allegations.

He said the layers cited by doubters are evidence of the use of common, off-the-shelf scanning software not evidence of a forgery. I have seen a lot of illustrator documents that come from photos and contain those kind of clippingsand it looks exactly like this, he said.
Tremblay explained that the scanner optical character recognition (OCR) software attempts to translate characters or words in a photograph into text. He said the layers cited by the doubters shows that software at work and nothing more.

You OCR the document so you can search.
How do you explain the fraud?
“Why would you use OCR on a document you were not going to modify?”
So you can search multiple documents.
The "layering" is an artifact of Adobe, not necessarily the document. If you open it up in some other print format software you'll see boxes around the various data elements ~ but it's all on one layer.
If you ever had to learn DEC systems updating protocols you'd know how this goes ~ or if you ran a PBX and had to update names, phone numbers, linkages, etc. you'd discover the same sort of internal structures.
What Trembley is doing is avoiding saying why those layers occur. He imagines that telling people something will simply generate more questions. As it is that very attitude is what got Obama in trouble with the public. He could have done this years ago but feared "questions".
Remember, Obama and his team are fairly stupid and they have reason to believe that people may ask questions they can't answer.
Obama should fix that problem sooner rather than later. Get some people into the White House on the administrative processes side who know up from down (just for a start, we can work up into the ranks of the Genius Bar later).
Does OCR turn the stuff that looks like text into “cleaned up” text?
These two people are dumber than Sarah Palin. The so-called Photoshop "expert" needs to go back to school. He doesn't even know that whenever you scan any document into PDF and then open it with Adobe Illustrator, it will have layers. The "expert" is either incompetent or try to willfully fool people with this nonsense.
Brown Deer:”How do you explain the fraud?”
What are you talking about? I just asked if anyone had more examples of signatures by U.K.C. Lee...
In the absence of a legitimate U. K. C. Lee turning up, I interpret it as evidence of a sloppy fraud.
How do you interpret the spelling of THE as TXE in the alleged rubber stamp?
The purported birth certificate does exactly what we conservatives wanted.
The document lists Barack Hussein Obama Sr. as the father; race African is a bit odd but the race doesn’t matter. The nationality of the father is what matters.
With an American mother and an African father, the current occupant of the White House CANNOT be a natural-born citizen and therefore CANNOT hold the office of President of the United States. Case closed.
Start the impeachment proceedings, please. Today.
Ok if this is the normal way the software works, then do it again.
THIS IS BS FOLKS~!
I have 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE in computer software engineering and digital imaging.
If this is the truth I will go on the internet and publicly apologize and kiss this man’s ass on web-cam.
Why do they site this ‘expert’ and not me? Because he is sayting what they want to hear.
All I am saying is OK then, if this is true, DO IT AGAIN.
I dare you to try.
In every case except this one, yes...
“Good point, I believe that OCR data would not be pixilated, it would convert into some type of font, is that not correct?”
Yes, indeedy, that is the whole point of optical character recognition: to convert an image into a text file.
It can, depending on settings.
This BC is identified by it's own stamp as an "abstract".
Just as I was sort of putting this matter to rest and accepting the release, your statement has me thinking (cheers from the gallery). For it was stated that the good doctor Alvin T. Onaka PhD, had signed many, many forms. He had medical treatment for the damage to his hand in doing this. Therefore a rubber stamp was created with his signature.
Obviously there was a chance for his staff to use it. This stamp seemed to be for the purpose of the short form. Simply that an archivist or clerk had viewed the original form and transcribed the main details. Nothing wrong with that of course.
Now it seems to me that there was no need for such a use of the stamp in this case. For it purports to be the original long form. I thought and it is only a thought, that why did not the good doctor actually sign the long form on the back with his personal signature?. I presume his hand is now healed.
These and a few other questions, lead me to observe that "the jury is still out" on the latest release.
Tremblay? Seriously?
Expert: Any drip under pressure that is far enough from home that his reputation for mendacity has yet to catch up with him.
instead of all these so-called experts, why aren’t the original documents being submitted to an independent, certified document forensics lab and then have those results released publicly?
