A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area.
The product in question: unpasteurized milk.
Its a battle thats been going on behind the scenes for years, with natural foods advocates arguing that raw milk, as its also known, is healthier than the pasteurized product, while the Food and Drug Administration says raw milk can carry harmful bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria.
It is the FDAs position that raw milk should never be consumed, said Tamara N. Ward, spokeswoman for the FDA...

Try a dairy goat like a small Alpine. We had a Nubian goat we named Isabella ten years ago. She milked for us more than a gallon a day. They are a dry manure animal, eat your brushy overgrown vegitation, and are very personable. The milk is very good and is even richer than cows milk. They love people, and make a good member of the family.

You’re not supposed to drink it straight from the cow.
There are probably a lot of people who don't realize where milk comes from. "From the store?" "From Obama?"
You mean they don’t call it Raisin Onion Bran?
It’s well known that tomato plants sprout from sludge drying beds at sewage treatment plants. Those seeds are tough!
“Simple remedy, Jury Nullification.”
Better solution: elect a constitutional sheriff.
Patriots need to get off their butts and elect a constitutional sheriff. A constitutional sheriff is accountable to the people via the ballot box.
Federal fascists are not accountable to the people, other than with bullets and bombs.
A constitutional sheriff can:
1) protect the county from criminals, both freelance criminals and government criminals
2) stop federal fascist pigs from entering your county
3) arrest federal fascist pigs who illegally enter your county and commit crimes
4) raise up a 2,000 man armed auxiliary deputy force for “emergencies.”
The only proper peace officer for a free people is an elected sheriff accountable to the people via the ballot box. If you want freedom, this is what you need.
I was little then. More like “Captain Onion Crunch”
I drink raw milk all the time. Milked from Dexter cattle. Good stuff. Best milk there is. Love the cream on top. Get the gov out of y life!
We had 2 cows my sister and I had to milk before going to school - Mollie the Jersey gave 100% pure cream. Cats would line up in the barn waiting for their morning squirt. Washing all those cups on the separator was my most unfavorite job. Never will forget singing “come butter” while churning by hand. Hand churned ice cream made mostly from fresh cream for dessert on Sunday. Childhood memories so few will ever get to enjoy.
“while the Food and Drug Administration says raw milk can carry harmful bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria.”
As can the air, water, and soil. So are we to stop breathing, swimming, and planting gardens?

Not in that order.
What burns me is corporate America’s fingerprints all over the fed gov. Talk about enforcing laws. Big agri wants everyone on processed foods, gets FDA to enforce every letter of the law. Big agri and business wants cheap labor, tells fed gov don’t enforce immigration laws. Let me see, raw milk hasn’t killed anyone, law must be enforced. Illegal immigrants kill thousands of Americans every year, law does not need to be enforced. Revolution is coming and there will be many fed officers/officials and corporate CEO’s dangling from the end of a rope. No mercy for their families and supporters. Sadly it must end this way.
***remember springtime raw milk on grass fed cows and the onion taste from all the spring onion grass?**
**I didn’t until you mentioned it, that is some nasty stuff.***
The way to survive it is to take a bite of onion before you drink the milk.
My dad slaughtered a beef that had been raised on wild onions. Awful stuff! he told us to take a bite of onion first then you would not notice it. It worked as the raw onion overpowered the taste of onion meat. Boy it stunk up the house while cooking!
I second that! I love my goats! They are an absolute hoot. We made a pyramid shaped pile of old concrete culverts and the goats play king of the hill and climb all over them. I'm planning more climbing features in their pen/pasture.
There was a book published about 38 years ago titled THE GOOD OLD DAYS, THEY WERE TERRIBLE!
One engraving from about 120 years ago showed a “dairy” in which a very sick cow was hoisted up so a man could milk her and sell the milk.
Wish I had that book!
“Milk is from cows, not from soy plants?”
Signed,
A Confused Liberal.
Just a matter of time before these are outlawed.
In Florida you are allowed to sell it as long as you state it is for animal consumption only. (wink, wink)
They know that people are not buying it for their animals, but it seems to make everyone happy for now.
They let illegal aliens commit crimes here, but prosecute Amish farmers for selling natural milk. Something is very wrong with this picture.
Oh my starz! They should be! I'm getting dizzy!
