Rather than try to reason out when or how long looking becomes sin, we should remember that the whole point Jesus was making was to convince these self-righteous “religious” people that they were not so holy as they thought they were. The law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. Without acknowledging we are all sinners, we would not understand our need for a savior. That was his real point, I think.

I'm not a Calvinist, but even I can see that what you said is pure made up garbage. You have NO proof of any of your accusations and only seem to toss out this kind of silliness whenever you lack a real argument. So far I've yet to see one. Desperation isn't very pretty.

Also, Jesus was teaching the “spirit” of the law over the “letter” of the law. Big difference - HUGE difference.

It appears that since some Roman Catholic apologists can't defend the faith they presume to live, they've resorted to fabricating disgusting lies about Godly men.

Calvin was married and lost two children in infancy. His letters about the death of his wife are heart-breaking.

There is NO ONE Rome despises as much as John Calvin. He had their number 500 years ago and he tore their doctrines of men to shreds by the evidence of Scripture.

As Jesus said, some men cannot stand the truth because their deeds are evil.

This is from a protestant historian:

“The corroborated evidence, from both Protestants and Catholics, was that Calvin was found guilty of sodomy.”

How true. Lies are a standard thing with the Roman Catholic Cult though; I'm honestly surprised it took this long before they started the outright fabrications.

Must be projection due to having to account for homosexual popes. How exactly does that jibe with tradition, I wonder?

Interesting

the republic of Geneva had sent him to Noyon, with orders to make an exact inquiry into Calvin's life and character; and that he found Calvin had been convicted of sodomy; but that at the bishop's request, the punishment by fire was commuted into that of being branded with the Flower-de-luce

The corroborated evidence, from both Protestants and Catholics, was that Calvin was found guilty of sodomy. This does not prove it is true. Yet, it is the only concrete evidence available to explain the imprisonment of Calvin in 1534.
But, why bother with the actions of Calvin? He's been supersedeed in the eyes of DrEck, Rn,Gamecoc and Alex's group by Machen, their enlightened Profit.

Just as they consider that Calvin superseeded Augustine, Machen supersedes Calvin hence their readings each week take a few excerpts from the Pauline Epistles and lot of readings of Mack daddy.

Let us take the Nicene Creed and compare with the OPC's beliefs:

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all that is, seen and unseen.

So far, the OPC is on track.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.

Well, not really; they think of Jesus as a lesser God than the Father. The OPC says that:

Jesus is God's doorway through the wall. God appointed his Son to be the substitute for those whom he would save. Jesus loved the Father with every fiber of his being. He obeyed the Father's holy will completely. He died on Calvary's cross as the atoning sacrifice, bearing all the sins of his people. He rose again from the dead and was exalted to the place of glory at the Father's side.

For the OPC, Jesus is a lesser or messenger god to God the Father, much like Mercury was the messenger of Jupiter in the Roman Pantheon of gods. This is not Christian.

As well, The OPC says that:

Christ is, in reality, the one true worshiper.[5] Our worship is a participation in his. Further, our worship in Christ is by the Holy Spirit.

Here, the OPC says that Christ worships God the Father, and the Holy Spirit worships Christ. Not Trinitarian, but polytheist.

Christianity believes that Jesus is fully God and fully man at the same time.

The OPC says:

"The Son of Man"

Jesus affirms that he is "the Son of Man." This was his favorite self-designation. The Gospels mention his calling himself the Son of Man some eighty times. William White, Jr., explains that this title reflects Daniel 7:13, where the "Son of Man" is one to whom is given universal and eternal authority, glory, and sovereign dominion. He is one from among men to whom is given divine prerogatives. Since only God can receive such prerogatives, the Son of Man is a God-man (Daniel 10:16). Thus, the Son of Man, Jesus, descended from heaven (John 3:13) and was dependent on God, as He had nowhere to lay His head (Matt. 8:20). He exercises an authoritative and redemptive mission (John 3:14). He is the universal Lord (Matt. 28:18; cf. Dan. 7:13-14) and has total responsibility and authority for judging the world (Matt. 13:41-42; 19:28). (Theological and Grammatical Phrasebook of the Bible, p. 102 [Moody Press, 1984]. Cf. Geerhardus Vos, The Self-Disclosure of Jesus [Eerdmans, 1954].)

So when Jesus calls himself the Son of Man, he does much more than identify himself as having a human nature. He reveals himself as God incarnated as the Last Adam, the true Man, the Man of God's right hand, the Messiah, the King, the Savior, Lord, and Judge! Compare Daniel 7:9-14 and Revelation 1:12-18. It's an amazing claim.

It sure is. It affirms that the OPC believes that Jesus is a lesser God - is totally dependent upon God and therefore is not the God of Christianity, but a messenger or harbinger, much like John the Baptist was for Jesus.

The OPC reveal themselves as extreme adoptionists who take it to the next step and leave Christianity for polytheism

I know that Papists have a hard time with the Inspired Word of God, but try to focus on what God has told us, not man’s tradition:

Philippians 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,

Acts 5:31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Acts 2:33 Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.

so, Gamecock, why does your group believe that Jesus is a lesser or messenger god to God the Father, much like Mercury was the messenger of Jupiter in the Roman Pantheon of gods?

This is not Christian.

I consider traditional Lutherans and Anglicans to be very close to orthodoxy, I consider all who worship together the One Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ as part of the ONE triune God as my fellow Christians. These include our Pentecostal,Methodist, BAptist, Presbyterian (like the Cumberland Presbyterian), Wesleyan etc. brothers

I will dispute and disagree with them, but they are still my Christian brothers and sisters, however, I do not consider brethren any non-Christian group that denies Christ as Lord, God and Savior, part of the ONE triune God.

Now I ask if your group's beliefs are Christian.

It's very strange that some groups like yours don't reveal anything about it's basic beliefs but hides behind shouts and insults. I've seen the left do the same... Tell us, what does your group believe in?

  1. Does your group believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

  2. Does your group believe in ONE Lord Jesus Christ, The Only Son of God, Eternally Begotten of the Father, begotten, not made, ONE in being with the Father, through whom all things was made

  3. Does your group believe that Jesus Christ, God the Son became incarnate in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, was born of a virgin through the Holy Spirit. That God truly became human in Jesus Christ.

  4. Does your group believe as we Christians do, that Jesus Christ was fully man and fully God or does your group believe that He was a spirit or ghost

  5. Does your group believe that Jesus Christ, God the Son was crucified, DIED and was buried or does your group believe that Jesus was not crucified or died, but was spirited away?

  6. Does your group believe that for our sake Jesus Christ our Lord, God and Savior rose again in fulfilment of the scriptures?

  7. Does your group believe that Jesus Christ, God the Son was crucified, DIED and was buried. And on the third day He rose again, ascended into heaven?

  8. Does your group believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life? Who is Lord and God and worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son?
