This happened at an I-HOP, a police officer punching a woman at an I-HOP during an arrest.
Police Officer Punches Woman In Face During Arrest At I-HOP
“You’re lucky. There WERE no fast food joints when I was growing up.”
Well, someone had to pick up the slack when women abandoned the home, right?
Seeing that is was after 3:00 AM on Sunday morning when the barflies are most active, I'd bet a month's salary that alcohol stupidity played a major role.
So now it is from hit to a grab, how about the cop over reacted. Little fat boy needs to go on a diet.
From the vid, she interfered with the cops arresting/detaining another - a major no no. The cop was overwhelmingly justified in using force for resisting arrest.
I don’t think he was too close for using the baton. One swift hit to the side of her head and she would have been out cold.
It looks like he was struggling with someone else at the table, and she interfered, so he slapped her hand. She hit him several times, and he punched her.

It is my understanding that, even off shift, they are still considered on duty.
Women have that victim thing down to a science
Maybe the bars close at 3.
From link:
. Sunday, but the incident started as a conflict between the officer, working a second job at the Buckhead restaurant, and another woman with the one who was hit.
According to several videos posted on YouTube.com, the officer, whose name was not known, shouted at a woman sitting in the corner of a booth near the door and then he lunged at her. A woman wearing a black dress appeared to be trying to separate the officer and her friend when the officer slapped her. The woman in the black dress hit him back and he responded with a punch to her face.
Also dont know what started it...but clearly the cop with the black hair hit her first...
So the cop with the black hair wasnt even on duty...
Looks like words were exchanged...and the OFF DUTY cop decided to get physical first...
Not such an open and shut case...
I think we're pretty much finished. I already don't recognize America.
Sadly, that pretty well sums it up for me, too.

Again for the slow learners: COPS ARE NEVER OFF DUTY.
Wrong, if a cop thinks he has the right to punch drunk someone for a minor problem then we the tax payer need rewrite the rules.
So its OK for the cop to hit her, but she can’t defend herself? I hope the book is thrown @ that asshat (him not her).
Only when convenient, ask an OD cop for help. Good Luck. You’ll be lucky to get directions from one on-duty in Atlanta.
That this incident happened doesn’t reveal that we’re finished as a civilized country. That the cop will be excoriated even when found to have used justifiable force does.
“As a former police officer, I can tell you this as a certainty.”
We’ll around here only for their convenience. My neighbor a COP was at a restaurant with other cops at a training session they were performing out of town and had to get involved in a situation almost exactly like this one. They watched why the off-duty cop abused a man verbally then when the man called the police he was almost the one arrested, until they stepped in and identified themselves. The next day my neighbor visited the Chief to make sure things were straight. He admitted if it had happened at home no one probably would have stepped in because blood is thicker than truth.
