Rev. Graham on the 2012 GOP field: Trump may be right
The Hill ^ | April 24, 2011 | Jamie Klatell

Rev. Franklin Graham, who took over his father Billy Graham's ministry, said he has looked at the field of potential candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination and thinks Donald Trump might be the one.

"Donald Trump, when I first saw that he was getting in, I thought, 'Well, this has got to be a joke,'" Graham said on ABC's "This Week." "But the more you listen to him, the more you say to yourself, "You know, maybe the guy's right."

Other than Sarah Palin who do we have?

Michele Bachmann... Herman Cain... assume they run.

So true..this place is RIDDLED with FAKE Freepers dispatched here to run down Trump constantly with true believer type passion and “conservative” zeal.

Big charges for someone who claims to have discernment.

You are not a newbee but, I assure you the folks who are watching folks around here fall in love with this guy in horror are not fake Freepers. Just the good old fashion kind who see someone saying things they didn't say even a year ago and say.. uh.. wait a minute.

The turn-coat Rick Santorum who sold out Pat Toomey for the slimey Arlen Specter?

Isn't your argument basically the same as the one advanced by the Bushies and Rove to pressure Santorum to support Spectre? They said Toomey wasn't electable and Spectre was. So, how is this bundle of crap you are peddling one little bit different?

Bachmann and Cain are good people BUT, no Congressman has been elected President since Garfield.

Right now conservatism is the brand that is selling. Trump being the astute business man that he is, knows a good deal when he see's it. When the presidency is the prize and conservatism is the way to get there, what does a good business man do?... a re-branding.

Moreover, as a super rich guy, how would he ever win the dem nomination?

My argument is I DON’T TRUST SANTORUM when it comes to sticking to your core values. However, your statement and question do not even really make any sense. Did you not finish the 5th Grade or are you drunk or do you just need to lay down the crack pipe?

And when Conservatism isn't as popular, how long before you think this tiger will once again change his stripes? This is why I wouldn't want this sort of person as my president or my spouse, or for that matter anyone I absolutely had to depend on because, the next betrayal is just moments down the road.

Moreover, as a super rich guy, how would he ever win the dem nomination?

Are you silly, what did you think Kerry was worth when he ran? The Dems are the party of the rich in spite of what you might think. Conservatives know who is paying the taxes because it is often them. The Super rich have lawyers, accountants and lobbyists and they pay what they choose, and always will. But, if you tax that next Bill Gates out of existence, well the world is better, eh?

Thats a funny statement for someone flogging Trump as trustworthy. As for the rest. Lame.

Actually he does not have to wait till conservatism is not popular. He just has to win the presidency.

Kerry did package himself as the man of the working people. Except he was not very believable. For the dems, it is all about how you market yourself, not who you really are.

Okay, I'll add DeMint to the mix. He has said he doesn't want to run but it's early yet.

Well, this seems to be true. But, just look down this thread too all of the folks who cannot make out that Trump is not the ride they think he would be. Some folks just want to believe.

Now, he does really say the right things and for the moment, he is fighting what seems to be the good fight, except that he is distracting folks from the most important fight of the moment, cutting drastically the amount this government is spending. But, fortunately, many other folks are looking at the numbers and saying... it is now. This is the time.

Makes me wonder. If Romney came out with big statements about the birth certificate, the same folks would jump on that boat without a life jacket.

Makes me wonder. If Romney came out with big statements about the birth certificate, the same folks would jump on that boat without a life jacket.

People are just sick that this lie has been able to persist for more than 2 years.. they don't understand how every politician can be so cowed in to fearing the simple demand of the truth whatever it is. This is why they are looking with hope to Trump. They sense they are being lied to. When you say that BHO issues are not important, then they wonder what you think is? Because, if this guy can get away with this BIG LIE what ever it is, then what other things are too impossible to talk about that we really need to know.

Its called destroying the public trust and folks used to respect this and insist that folks be honest, but in this case, the smartest people just run and hide when it comes to this obvious fraud that just exists because folks are afraid to be called racist. Its that simple.

But, as with every trick that works, there is a price to be paid once the trick is exposed. And the price is that people lose trust for everyone who just went along with it. This price will become more viciously exacted as the truth emerges because the betrayal is immense. One hopes this is primarily played out by the entry of competitors in the news business that replace the organizations that have fallen to corruption.

I care that Trump is kicking the shits out of Obama.

I care that Trump has the Democratic Party on the run.

I care that the Republican Party hierarchy is attacking Trump WHEN they should be going after Obama and the Democrats!

I am not a sucker and wouldn’t vote for Trump in the primary.

But folks, I’n not seeing a lot of fighting spirit coming from Republicans except those beating on Trump.

NEVER KILL THE MESSENGER - TRUMP IS THE MESSENGER TELLING US HOW TO GET OBAMA.

And, until 2008, there had NEVER been an African American POTUS. Once something of that magnitude is accomplished, nothing is off the table or "impossible."

Trump is doing the job real conservatives refuse to do.

He may be a billionaire bull in the China shop, but he’s my bull.
