Glenn Beck Responds to Huckabee and Bugga Bears
April 22, 2011 | Vanity

Posted on 04/22/2011 8:17:54 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Just caught Beck on the car radio. A quick summary.

After Huckabee emailed Beck about Beck calling him a "progressive" on air, Huckabee also followed it up with a piece on his site ridiculing Beck and his "bugga bear" conspiracy theories.

Beck played it on the air this morning.

After playing Huckabee's comments, Beck detailed how Huckabee (a Christian and someone who he has met, interviewed and knows many people who are friends of Mike Huckabee -- and that his comments are in response to Huckabee's big government politics) isn't a conservative and is someone who raised taxes when he was in office.

Beck said he is glad that they both have shows to get out their points of view and asked Huckabee to tell him which concerns he (Beck) has talked about that fall into Huckabee's definition of "bugga bear."

Then he closed that segment by saying that Huckabee would be as thin-skinned as Obama and that we don't need that.

Exactly! It pisses me off to no end, when not only does he ignore this issue, but he blatantly makes fun of those of us who believe this is a valid issue to be concerned about.

That's not where I was going (BTW, it's Mormon). The point of the poster was that Mormonism is a cult. By any definition I have seen of the word, that is absolutely true. Doesn't mean he (Beck) is a bad person.

I'm not a Morwoman either -- LOL -- boy you are fixated on Beck and LDS. When you go down that path you're NOT focusing on Obama and the Democrats. So what is it for you? Mormons or winning elections for conservatives?

You should look into who sits at the table in the room at the White House where every other American President has held Cabinet meetings (hint: he does not meet with members of his Cabinet).

What you don’t know won’t hurt you, heh?

Since you seem like a walking encylopedia on Huckabee, I would like an anwser to a comment that a freeper made about Huckabee not really having been a minister. Since this is the end-all-and-be-all to the Huckster’s supporters, could you tell us what you know about his so-called ministry. Did he go to seminary? How long did he serve as a minister, if at all.

Sorry, if this is covered in your links, but I just didn’t want to go through that long, long list. Thanks.

“The last thing we need is someone challenging Barack Obama, not as President of the United States but challenging Barack Obama for his title as the most thin-skinned President in American history.”

Glenn asks why Huckabee assumed Beck was calling him a Nazi when he never mentioned the term nor would anyone take being a Progressive as being a Nazi..unless, Beck wonders again, perhaps Huckabee is watching MSNBC..or Media Matters' talking points.

Ooops Huck! you were really out of your league in
ONE BIG BECK SWOOP!!

Was Beck playing the Trump Card like the Donald did against Rosie? A media fight that went on for weeks. Didn't turn out so well for Rosie.....

I watched & read what Huckabee said on this & what Beck said on this.
An observant person must admit that Beck made great points that Huckabee cannot deny.
Huckabee’s response was akin to a child that had his hand in a cookie jar & was caught red handed.
If you want to guarantee another 4 years for Obambi then just run Huckabee in 2012.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Huck went to college at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR at the same time as my wife, in the early-mid 70's, where I think he got a BS degree in Religion. He may have attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas for a while but I'm not sure. Yes, Huck was a Baptist minister for a number of years before He decided politics (and the related fame, power, prestige, and wealth) was a greater calling than his calling from God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost and to pastor the members of one of God's churches.

Huck pastored Immanuel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, AR from 1980-1986. My wife's family were members and attended Beech Street First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Ark. where the Huck pastored from 1986 to 1992. From 1989-1991 he was also the president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. In 1992 he became lieutenant governor of Arkansas, and in 1996 he became governor.

Huckabee needs to be swiftboated. Lord knows there are lots of skeletons in his closet, such as all of those pardons to violent criminals. This is truly not a man of God but a smooth political operator. Wonder how many political donations he got from families of those criminals?
