Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson announced today that he's running for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
"I'm ready for a different America," Johnson said in a statement today. "I'm ready for the day when a person can build a good life on a decent income, and we can take our government at its word."
Johnson announced his candidacy Thursday morning on the steps of the New Hampshire State House and plans to spend three days in the early-nominating state meeting with supporters and visiting local businesses.
Of course everyone is different and unique and some have more propensity to crime than others.
Your argument can easily be used to profile children who are “more prone to crime” and kill them. Or sterilize adults who have commited crimes or are likely to.
It’s repellent.
It also ignores the fact that people can and do change. I’ve committed petty crimes, more than 40 years ago. Should I have been prevented from having children or forced to undergo abortion?
You’re argument also says that only worthy babies should be allowed to be born. Those who will be cute and smiling.
Ok, you’re losing me with a response like that. May I remind you, that we went through 8 pregnancies in search of that elusive boy and my wife was considered by some to be too old to have babies. So does that answer your question about Palin’s baby?
I will also ask you this, how many kids do you have? How many pregnancies have you gone through? How many friends do you know who’ve had 4+ kids? Pregnancy isn’t a walk in the park, it’s potentially life-threatening. I’ve been to the ER due to a misscarriage and seeing the bumbling incompetence of the staff there, you can’t tell me pregnancy is without risk.
You still haven’t answered my question. Should that teenage girl who was raped by 11+ thugs, would you force her to potentially conceive and get pregnant?
I truly do not care a wit what you think of me.
Pity that we are on the same side of this argument and we are arguing because of my post #24 that started all this.
I really must rethink my position on pro lifers (not my pro life view).
I've seldom had such outrageous statements made against me from those I typically agree with.
There is something fundamentally wrong with the degree of fanaticism by several FReepers on this thread.
But, your problem is that you’re creating a false choice.
As Christians, God never, ever puts us in a position where we must do evil.
And, as Americans, we never, ever have to give our sacred franchise as citizens away to those who have abandoned our most important foundational principles.
Time for me to leave this thread and return to planet Earth.
Defined by you as someone who calls killing a child "child-killing."
No my argument does not say that in the least. You’re not comprehending my posts.
I didn't say anthing remotely like this. Stop making things up.
I think you need to take a walk and get some air.
I've got to leave for church. Be well, Leo.
3 miscarriages.
5 happy, healthy girls.
So I know what Im talking about when it comes to pregnancy and having babies.
Pregnancy is tough, miserable and at times frightening.
The 1 of the 3 miscarriages had us rushing to the emergency room with surgery recommended. My wifes last 2 pregnancies were awful on her. If my wife were to get pregnant again, it probably would put her in the hospital.
My friends wife just had a baby and she had to be rushed to the ER, and her pregnancy was absolutely miserable. Shes lethargic, miserable and wiped out.
Pregnancy can KILL YOU.
I just dont get this kind of reasoning. Forcing a loved one to not take a pill after shes raped and forcing her to potentially get pregnant. Putting her health and life and future at risk. And yet, isnt Scripture replete with verses that a persons nature carries through their blood. So far, no ones presented a good enough argument to convince me otherwise.
*****************************
First, you know what you have experienced regarding pregnancy. Not everyone has the same experience. Many, many women enjoy pregnancy. My mother had seven children without any complications.
Second, most women today do not die in childbirth. IIRC, the number is 10 out of 100,000 in countries such as ours.
Third, who on this thread is talking about "forcing a woman to not take a pill and forcing her to potentially get pregnant"?
I gotta go, too. It sure has been exciting today.
I just wish that we all were PRO-LIFE, but some REPUBLICANS aren't. Should a REPUBLICAN who is to the RIGHT of Rush or Sean be disqualified if he is PRO-CHOICE???
That someone even needs to see that to understand..........
YOU tell me.
YOU accused ME of making things up. What did I make up?
While you are at your church, prey to God almighty that he will forgive you for your imbecility that is so clearly on display for all of us to see and pity you for.
“Third, who on this thread is talking about “forcing a woman to not take a pill and forcing her to potentially get pregnant”?”
Well apparently quite a few here think that if a woman gets raped she has no right to take the pill to prevent pregnancy. They feel she should be forced to carry a pregnancy in the case of RAPE.
From the political perspective; what - exactly and specifically - does "pro abortion" mean?
I"m sure I'll be roundly chastised for such intemperate extremist language...
Yes it does. If a baby should be killed because the father is sinful, what about those already born whose fathers are sinful? Or ones conceived not by rape but whose fathers are sinful?
Just carry the “logic” further and that’s where it goes.
Eugenics. “Bad blood”.
You still havent answered my question. Should that teenage girl who was raped by 11+ thugs, would you force her to potentially conceive and get pregnant?

As has been explained to you - again and again - A conservative does not believe in abortion. Under any circumstances.
And as a Christian - how dare you call for violence to repay violence?
And as I read your repsonse about Palin’s special needs baby; I think I hit the nail on the head asking you if you would have called for an abortion. I think you would have.
