Bachmann: Obama has neglected to prove eligibility
WND ^ | April 17, 2011 | Joe Kovacs

Posted on 04/17/2011 7:32:49 PM PDT by RobinMasters

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., says President Obama has neglected to clearly demonstrate he's eligible to hold his office, and says it would be simple for him to do so.

"It's an interesting issue that has gone on for so long and it's one that the president could have solved very early on," Bachmann told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro last night.

"All he had to do is just answer some questions and show his [long-form birth] document and then have people do an attestation that this in fact is a legal document and it's over, it's done. And I think the president has neglected to focus on answering that question for people, and that's why a lot of people still have it lingering in their minds. None of us can prove, none of us can do attestation. Only the president and someone who is legally tasked with attesting to the validity of that document can do that, and I think that's what the president should do."

Bachmann, who is considering her own run for president next year, said, "One thing I know is that people have weighed President Obama in the balance, and he's been found wanting. I think we have a real opportunity to win back the White House. And again, it's not about a political party winning, it's about taking the country back. That's the bigger issue, and I think it's really gonna happen in 2012."

Here’s my argument -— even if he could prove that he was born in Hawaii, SO WHAT?

I agree with you, completely, which is why I said action #2 is to get that in writing as an eligibility requirement in each and every state. And the only reason I list it as #2 is because it's not yet legally defined, anywhere, enough for the MSM to go after it.

All they do is parrot the COLB, which isn't about to stop, unless you can discredit the COLB by showing it doesn't actually prove birth on US soil. Then all the other discussion starts, including NBC. But right now they just point to COLB and say case closed. I really hate letting them define the discussion, but this has been going on for literally years, and unfortunately the discussion is already defined to whether he was born on US soil or not.

Nice find. Trump has really brought the BC issue to the forefront, and I would love nothing more than to see Obama disqualified for office. But unless somebody actually has the goods, which we haven't seen yet, she may have been right 3 weeks ago. Trust, but verify.

Assuming his father was Barack Hussein Obama, a citizen of Kenya, and his mother was too young to confer citizenship on him, so what? Nobody wil do a dang thing about it. Not Congress, not the courts and not the “people”. There is no recourse.

So what you highlighted says that:

1. 2 citizens have a child born out of the country but the child still would be considered natural born. This is the John McCain scenario - born in Panama of 2 US citizens ergo McCain is natural born (which makes me wonder why Congress passed the resolution declaring this).

2. But if McCain’s father had never been “a resident” of the US then this would not apply - according to this.

Seems if this is the only clause referring to what makes Natural Born then it leaves room for argument. For instance, If zero was born in Hawaii instead of out of the country then would #1 apply to him? Also, we all know his dad (at least the one zero says he is) was a resident of the US - even though he wasn’t a citizen.

Is there something I’m misunderstanding?

Regardless, why doesn't he even produce the long form birth certificate? Why? Can you answer, "why?" Inquiring minds would like to know.

Thanks!

Ummm... he hasn't done that yet. If he did, then we could move on to step two that you have so wisely pointed out. Ideally, it would be a concurrent process.

So don't bother doing anything? Give up the fight?

That loser attitude sets a precedent of further erosion of our Constitution and liberals win.

Awesome Michelle Bachmann!

Of course, the Obama Supporters, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, and others will attack her....and you can bet some of the Obama Supporters on here will try to link her to George Soros

"Trump, now that man is a nut, but I don’t get why they always say Michele is a whacko."

Gee, ain't it funny that she waited until Trump hit #1 in the polls to become a birther?

Congress has neglected to clearly demonstrate he's eligible to hold his office as well.

That is why we have a US Supreme Court.

They interpret the document. They interpret the clause.

We live in a democracy, not a republic.

All this theorizing about natural born citizenship is all academic and has no force of law.

As things stand now, every institution acknowledges Barack Obama as President of the United States.

Do you really believe the Supreme Court would rule that Hussein ain’t a natural born citizen?

It doesn’t even make it through the federal district courts and everybody who brings the case to court is chucked out as a loon.

Yes, very interesting thought because by putting “African” on that fake BC it pacifies the Obots by thinking African-American or Negro. Hmmm...

I agree that emphasis should be on the fact(?) that his declared father was not a USA subject. However, The birth certificate issue is important in the sense that it seems to be a bone of contention on both sides and should be cleared off the table for discussion. Also, if the certificate should show something different about parents that Obama has not acknowledged or falsified in some instance the entire debate about Obama’s eligibility would be reshaped.

I see the birthers are trying to turn Michele Bachmann into one of them. The country is going to hell in a handbasket and we're obsessing over this and want our potential presidential candidates to obsess over it. Meanwhile Obama is out there campaigining already, raising $2M a night. I guess some really do want 4 more years of Obama...

Well, you tell me what can be done. This issue has been out there since before Obama was elected and nothing has come of it. What can be done?

“I have one question> Why does your COLB identify Africa as a race? Africa is not a race”

Correct...”African” is not one of the terms used in that era. It would have been “Black” of “Negro”.

This finding was one of many things that were found to be falsified on that document. Many careless artifacts were proved to be faked.
