U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., says President Obama has neglected to clearly demonstrate he's eligible to hold his office, and says it would be simple for him to do so.
"It's an interesting issue that has gone on for so long and it's one that the president could have solved very early on," Bachmann told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro last night.
"All he had to do is just answer some questions and show his [long-form birth] document and then have people do an attestation that this in fact is a legal document and it's over, it's done. And I think the president has neglected to focus on answering that question for people, and that's why a lot of people still have it lingering in their minds. None of us can prove, none of us can do attestation. Only the president and someone who is legally tasked with attesting to the validity of that document can do that, and I think that's what the president should do."
Bachmann, who is considering her own run for president next year, said, "One thing I know is that people have weighed President Obama in the balance, and he's been found wanting. I think we have a real opportunity to win back the White House. And again, it's not about a political party winning, it's about taking the country back. That's the bigger issue, and I think it's really gonna happen in 2012."

Go, Michele!
Trump effect.
Right on, right on, right on.
The lefturds always talk about what a bat-sheet crazy broad she is, as you would think I just don’t get that. What has she done that is crazy? Trump, now that man is a nut, but I don’t get why they always say Michele is a whacko.
They are very afraid of her. How I would love to see a Bachmann/Palin ticket in 2012 but the Repugs will never nominate them. And I plan to tell them that the first time they call asking for money. I’ve donated to Bush twice and I gave them money in 2008 only because I thought McLame had a good VP candidate. If they throw another McLame at me I’m out.
RE: All he had to do is just answer some questions and show his [long-form birth] document and then have people do an attestation that this in fact is a legal document and it’s over
Sorry Congresswoman, I disagree with this. The Long Form Birth Certificate is NOT NECESSARY.
The issue is and has always been whether he is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN as required by the constitution.
As I understand it, there is a difference between being NATIVE BORN and NATURAL BORN.
A NATURAL BORN Citizen requires BOTH PARENTS ( Father AND Mother ) to be American Citizens AT THE TIME OF YOUR BIRTH.
So, Even if Obama could prove that he was born in Hawaii, HE HAS TO SHOW THAT HIS FATHER WAS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AT THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH. If his father was Kenyan (as many suspect he was), that makes Obama merely a NATIVE BORN Citizen, NOT NATURAL BORN as required by the Constitution.
The Long Form Birth Certificate is NOT the issue, the citizenship of Obama’s father at the time of his birth *IS* the issue.
A lot of people have been chasing the wrong document IMHO.
The long form will only give us information on where he was born and definitive proof of his citizenship upon birth
Of course part of that would be his fathers nationality. If his father was a Kenyan citizen at the time of 0bamas birth, then 0bama himself is “British by decent”. If he was born on American soil, then he has/had dual citizenship.
Either way, he woud not be a “NATURAL BORN” citizen.
This, of course, may be the reason they changed the certification of live birth that they did release. They removed the nationality of the father...
Trump/Bachmann 2012
A town in Kenya is missing its village idiot.
Nice-up the ante.
Produce a legal.
Have folks attest to the BC’s legality
Answer some questions.
I have one question> Why does your COLB identify Africa as a race? Africa is not a race
Correct. Trump has made it possible to question Obama's eligibility without being considered a fool or a racist.
I would only hope that more conservatives - and anyone who respects the Constitution - speak up on this issue.
Oh, and a side note to Bill O"Reilly: A birth announcement in a newspaper does not satisfy the Constitution's eligibility requirements.
Thank you, Mister Trump, for giving the others the “bwalls” (NY accent) to say the truth!
One thing I love about the way Michelle says it is she also includes that the piece of paper needs proper verification too!!! LOVE IT! Come on, people!! ASK! ASK AWAY! Everyone in the public eyes needs to start demanding.
The 2 key actions on this issue, as I see it:
1 - focus all discussion within the media (which must start outside the media) on how COLB’s in Hawaii in 1961 were legally granted to those that weren’t actually born there. The law allowed it, and according to reports (that need to be further investigated) it may have been as simple as signing something that claimed a baby was born there who may not have been. Recruit Trump for this, if he’s up for it and not just grandstanding.
2 - get as many states as you can to implement requirements that all candidates for US President, including in the primaries, provide proof they are a “Natural Born Citizen”. Some may not be willing to go that far, but at least require a complete BC and not a COLB for eligibility. Immediately label anyone who fights this constitutional requirement as a traitor.
The KEY ISSUES ARE :
1) Getting the definition of NATURAL BORN as understood by the FRAMERS right.
and then
2) Determining whether Obama’s birth meets that definition.
The problem as I see it is NO ONE has clearly defined what the term : NATURAL BORN means. What’s the point of harping on the Birth Certificate when the definition of NATURAL BORN is not well understood?
Thanks, but (IMO) the quest for legal NBC definition has already been ongoing for a while, was completely overlooked in the last election, and is therefore unfortunately somewhat “overcome by events” and not the first issue you will be able to resolve quickly. That’s why I listed it further down in my recommended actions. While it’s a kill shot it, requires legal determination which isn’t imminent.
So I would say you first need to get whatever reporters you can discussing the FACT that people not actually born in Hawaii have these COLB’s too. Right now they’re not doing that, and once that is finally on the table the whole house of cards comes into question. Everything is riding on whether that COLB actually proves he was born in Hawaii, so show that it doesn’t actually prove that, all anyone has to do is read the law.
RE: Everything is riding on whether that COLB actually proves he was born in Hawaii,
Here’s my argument -— even if he could prove that he was born in Hawaii, SO WHAT?
The issue is this — IS HE NATURAL BORN as UNDERSTOOD BY THE FRAMERS?
If his father was not a US Citizen, then he can be born anywhere in the US, HE WOULD STILL NOT BE NATURAL BORN.
NATURAL BORN CITIZENS REQUIRE BOTH ( not one ) PARENTS TO BE CITIZENS AT THE TIME OF BIRTH.
*THAT* is the issue.
The focus should be on Barack Obama SENIOR.
I’m beginning to wonder if the conventional wisdom that the BC issue only engenders sympathy for Obama, and helps him politically, no longer holds. It was probably true in 2008 when he was the “historic” candidate, and there were charges that the issue was “racist” (not to mention highly speculative, and at that point in time, seemingly silly to a lot of people).
But now, unless somebody has been living in a cave, everybody has heard about it. People have been hammering away more now on the BC issue, and yet his polls keep dropping- contrary to what should be expected if it really was so politically toxic for *serious* politicians to mention. I would think with his approval numbers now tied at historic lows, he would produce the thing to try to get sympathy again and boost his numbers up- yet, of course he hasn’t, and it just seems weird to everybody. And the doubts only grow...
And clearly, it gets under his skin, and politics is a battle, so why not at this point?
