I vigorously support his presence in the GOP primaries.
1. He is raising the birth certificate issue and giving em hell. So far I like it.
2. He is an aggressive candidate and not afraid to throw any kind of punches at Obama. If it is there to be attacked, Trump so far is not hesitating to attack it. Perhaps that kind of no holds barred attitude will catch on with at least some of the rest of the GOP field
3. Third and MOST IMPORTANT reason. Trump might end up doing hefty damage to Mitt Romney's campaign. That is if he keeps polling these same kind of polling numbers. Romney and the rest of the RINOs drink from the same trough. The more such jokers there are, the more the votes get split
Would you then support them if Trump was successful in forcing them to be more aggressive?
I wouldn't, but forcing them to be more aggressive would move the entire field more to the right.
I’ll just wait and keep looking for a candidate that starts with conservatism and doesn’t need to be coerced... especially by a liberal.
Let me know when one shows up.
LOL... I will!
Don’t hold your breath though. Those that are the most conservative are also smart enough to know the cost of running and winning.
I often wonder what it would look like for someone like Coburn to throw their hat in the mix in todays political climate.
Yes, yes, yes, bless you, yes. Stand back and let trump do his damage!
I’ll take Trump over BO and Mooch anyday.
Sarah Palin.
Good choice....
Yup, you also have the Hinckley-Duvall factor which is how Obama, Cheney and Bush are connected as distant cousins. They were once all on the same team. Bush tilted more towards the Soole side of the Hinkley-Soole family while Obama tilted more towards the Hinkley side. The Bush, Cheney Obama family got along well until the assassination attempt on Reagan. That's pretty much where the Reagan-Cheney family broke off with the Obama-Hinkley side.
Barbara Bush often got after George for dissing Barack. Often times whenever Bill Clinton would come to Kennebunkport to play golf he'd ask George if Barack could come play too. But ever since the John Hinkley incident George W. never saw eye to eye with his cousin. No matter how hard Barbara tried she could never get the three cousins back together again.
I think that's how George Soros came into the picture.
george soros is a man who turned Jewish children into the Nazi's hunting down Jewish people.
george soros is unwelcome in both Israel and Great Britain.
george soros funds the tides foundation, moveon.org. media matters, is involved with the funding of snopes and factcheck and is trying to stack the states by funding contributions to sec of state positions and has been funding campaigns of judges across our country on the local and state levels.
he is trying to undermine our rule of law, our system of government, and remake us into his vision of government run EVERYTHING (as long as he is in the top tier, of course, and like our congress, excluded from the rules he wants everyone else to follow)
if george soros helped get donald trump out of debt, helped him rebuild, I want to know if that debt has been repaid or if donald trump sits at the knee of that vile and corrupt man, george soros. If george soros owns part or all of donald trump, the deal is dead, birth certificate or no birth certificate.
He´s a business man who´s made a business decision based on the odds as he sees them.
Huh?????
Both Bushes passed the “conservative’ litmus test, and you see how well that turned out.
Other than Palin, who I would vote for, show me anyone else who’s got the guts to call-out Obama and ‘put the fire out’. At this point, it’s TRUMP!
Trump won’t pull any support from Romney. Trump is aiming at people who are emotion-driven (birthers, for example). Trump will pull people from Republican candidates who can give a good rousing speech and who are solidly opposed to Obama all across the board, people like Palin.
Romney was a big government pro-abortion Massachussets politician who was the son of a RINO Rockefeller (liberal) Republican (George Romney) and now he tries to tell us that he is a pro-Life pro-free market guy. How many real conservatives were ever dreaming of supporting him? None - or maybe a very few who are influenced by thinking that a Mormon is automatically a conservative (like those who thought a Baptist like Carter wuld be a conservative!).
The only way a RINO like Romney can win the Republican nomination is if someone slips a Ross Perot into the Republican primaries to split the conservative vote.
Trump made his money by borowing fortunes and then havving his corporations declare bancruptcy a bunch of times so he didn’t have to pay the money back for years (if ever). The things he owns are casinos and skyscrapers in big cities like New York and Chicago, those cities could make him a beggar in a day if they leaned on him (”Gee, no handicapped parking on the roof? Sorry Mr Trump, we’re gonna have to shut it down. I guess ya shoulda listened to Rahm and the boys”), and he has a TV show on the Dan Rather network. Who do you think is behind him? Really?
I say let Trump run. But if you or anyone else thinks he is a conservative, you are mistaken. He knows he has at least some audience with his current stances. Otherwise, he would not have flopped around to try to draw a crowd.
As for the Bushes, they were both put forth by the “He doesn’t need to be conservative if he speaks up” crowd. They were selecte by the Rockefeller Wing of the GOP and used as Trojan horses.
Yep - you know you’re near the target when you draw flak - Trump is drawing almost as much as Gov. Palin these days.
I do agree with part of what you said. Yes it is true that Trump is right now pulling votes away from ALL candidates but as far as I can see he is pulling most votes away from Romney. A few weeks ago I saw polls putting Romney at the top. Yesterday I see this poll that shows Trump now leading.

It is a Democratic pollster so we will have to wait and see for the results of other polls as well. IMHO both the Donald and Mittens appeal to those republican voters whose main and sometimes only priority is the economy. Like you said earlier, not many pro-life people will vote for either Romney or Trump. This would logically mean that they are both competing for the rest of the vote.
Overall you make good points. I agree with you on the point that if Trump decides to run as an independent it can prove disastrous. At that point though, his temporary love affair with republican primary voters should and will come to a swift end. If Trump does run as an independent, there will be the Ross Perot effect but I personally don’t believe it will be as substantial in magnitude. My expectation is that unlike in 1992 and 1996 when the people were NOT fed up with Bill Clinton they will be fed up with Obama by 2012 and thus they will tend to overlook such distractions.
I'm for anyone who can do that! I do not want to be faced with a McCain type vote again. Had enough of that. So anyone pulling away from Romney is heaven sent IMO. Not to mention he's giving Bo and the media a run as well.. Love it! As Pres. err-ummm, well Trump hasn't made his claim on that yet, nor palin and others....dust needs to settle and we're along way from that currently.
Only if he does the third party thing. IF Trump goes third party, the ‘Pubbies are hosed, and so is the country.
