Married for 41 years, the pair met in 1972 at the end of the Vietnam War. He was a civilian engineer working on military satellites, and she was working behind a Hanoi bar.

Am I nuts, or is there something screwy about an American engineer "working on military satellites" meeting his soon to be wife in a Hanoi bar, in 1972?

There’s something strange about a “civilian engineer working on military satellites, and she was working behind a Hanoi bar.”

I suspect it means that most journalists are as ignorant of geography as they are of economics.

Nah. Not surprising. The guy could have been working ground stations (the 1/2 of the system that’s not in orbit).
