We live in an age of public cowardice. That goes for millions of Americans and Europeans, even in the face of simple PC witch-hunts that don't end up burning or jailing people, but only try to destroy reputations and careers. Human beings have stood up to a lot worse than Political Correctness. But we can't seem to rouse ourselves to oppose it. The liberal bullies keep winning, because most of us just look the other way.
Decent people constantly get bashed and bullied by those coneheads at CNN, truly ignorant show-biz airheads, who take it upon themselves to dictate what we, a free people, are allowed to do and say in public. But our constitutional rights of free speech and assembly mean nothing if we do not exercise them. Silence means consent.
This is hugely embarrassing. Where is our self-respect? When did we lose our guts? Why did we cede the moral high ground to bullies and moral throwbacks from the ancient desert? Who made up those rules? I didn't. Did you?

The author should have titled this something else. He makes only a couple of observations about Jews. His idea that "Jews get suckered" is just wrong. American Jews are primarily non-Torah observant Reform or Secular. Just like "Christians" who belong to mainline protestantism or "secular" Christians, they account for 10's of millions of democrat voters who support wicked groups like the World Council of Churches or National Council of Churches. These groups are very anti Israel, pro gay, pro enviro extremist and socialist.
So, it is not a suckering of Jews or non-jews, it is a lack of Torah observance, G-d fearing, G-d centered living and in the case of Christians, NT observance and the exact same lack of G-d centered living.
American Reform Jews, due to their "enlightened" upbringing call their buildings "temples" and hence could care less about Israel and the Real Temple (which will be rebuilt). So, being a Jew to them means social justice, not to come through spiritual means but secular government.
So, American Jewry (Reform and Secular) and their Christian counterparts, are devoid of a G-d fearing lifestyle and are content to let goverment do it, while rooting on their favorite sports team and enjoying American Idol, the I-something gadget, hollywood gossip and People magazine. We are fat dumb and happy. We wont do anything until a crisis occurs and then it will be one gigantic reset. Then through the turmoil, people will once again, return to their faith. maybe.
"Social justice" is the most vacuous phrase in political discourse. You should be repulsed by it whenever you here it. Ask a lefty who advocates it to explain what it means and I'll assure you he'll hem and haw unless or until he gets into Marxist gobbledygook and thereby reveals his true (Red) colors.
It's a stretch to lump all "American Reform Jews" into the "social justice" camp, but too many, including rabbis, unfornately belong to it.
The true meaning of JUSTICE in Judaism is RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE. JUSTICE must not be confused with another Jewish (and Christian) value: charity. "Social Justice" is NO JUSTICE whatsoever!

I liked the article. What is angering me to never be PC is Harry Reid over and over again spweing “TEA party extremist” PC BS and our thief in chief being on TV or finding a TV to make sure he’s ON AIR daily and spewing the lies I have doubts many believe yet no one besides a few are standing up and doing much about it.
But what can we do? Being good American’s we abide by voting but it’s way past time writers, groups, politicians, individuals, schools start speaking out on the raping of Israel( which the writer asserts) and the same raping of our own ethics thus eroding morality in the US. I think every FReeper here( save the ones who are instigating negativity) knows and sees this; heck this is the only place where a mass of good articles are showing just how skewed our “social justice” or what “being PC” is really doing. I hope more articles and more folks from the TEA party, more of everyone from the highest to the lowest will scream the “wrongness( my own word oh well)” of what is happeneing in not just America, but Israel, and every country that is being sweated and held hostage by first PC thinking and second how Islam has attached itself like a leech to political correctness which only if take to the end point will destroy not just America, but any sense of freedom any country or people have in the world. This is truly a war on so many levels.
I must state again: the majority of American Jews know very little about Judaism and rarely attend religious services. The ones who go to “Reform” synagogues hear swill about “social justice” which means, “Vote for the pro abortion, pro Pali Democratic party”. They are brainwashed and do not understand reality. Jews who are more religious tend to vote conservative/GOP and respect devout Christians because of shared values. I am not particularly observant but I know that there is evil and there is good and I believe in survival and the destruction of evil before it destroys you.

God permits a whole lot of things to happen that He would rather that men not choose.
I personally believe that everything will work out as it should.
But He does know what they will choose before they are even born, doesn’t He?
This is the crux of the classic Calvinist-Arminian disagreements. Neither view, AFAIK, explicitly acknowledges a divine ability to make causation work in what we earth dwellers would call the “reverse” direction. God has no obligation to be carried along in a time series.
Unlike you, I unfortunately have no actual knowledge of what God is obligated to. I just have a belief.
Send me well wishes please. I have to take a Culture, Ethnicity and Diversity class for professional reasons. It lasts ten weeks and just started. Our professor introduced herself by saying that her greatest passion is “social justice”. This is not going to be easy.
“Social Justice” has been taken over by the left - but it is also a very Conservative viewpoint. And a very Christian (and I’m pretty sure Jewish) strongly held belief as well.
Except we don’t just turn it over to the government. Looking at the Bible we see all sorts of things about taking care of widows, leaving some crops standing for the poor to glean, the tale of the Good Samaritan (help those that aren’t like you), the woman at the well, etc. Defending the weak (including the unborn), rebelling against bad authorities, - all “social justice” issues it would seem.
But, just like the woman at the well, we can help folks, and talk to folks and be polite, etc. But can also say “go, and sin no more”. Maybe not in so many words, but....
I imagine that YOUR interest in REAL social justice exceeds your professor’s.
