IT’S NO DEAL, IT’S A SELLOUT
Dick Morris .com ^ | April 9,2011 | Dick Morris

Posted on 04/09/2011 12:25:41 PM PDT by Hojczyk

John Boehner has just given away the Republican victory of 2010 at the bargaining table. Like the proverbial Uncle Sam who always wins the war but loses the peace, he has unilaterally disarmed the Republican Party by showing that he will not shut down the government and will, instead, willingly give way on even the most modest of cuts in order to avoid it. He now has no arrows left in his quiver.

Having failed to stand firm for just $61 billion in cuts in a budget of $3.7 trillion, how can we expect him to stand firm over the debt limit extension or the 2012 budget? We can’t. The excellent budget proposals of Paul Ryan are no more than a pipe dream now. Boehner has He sold us out now and he’ll sell us out again.

It is the duty of every Republican Congressman to vote no on this terrible deal. It violates our campaign promises to the American people. We promised $100 billion of cuts and we delivered $38 billion ($62 billion on a twelve month basis). In the Republican House’s first real test out of the box it has broken the promise over which it was elected. Only in Meat Loaf’s music is “two out of three not bad.”

This concession makes it clear that:

* Obamacare will not be defunded. * The EPA will not be blocked from regulating carbon. * The NLRB will not be stopped from forcing an end to secret ballots in union contests. * Medicaid will not be block granted and turned over to the states. * Welfare spending will not be cut nor work requirements imposed. * The FCC will not be stopped from regulating talk radio.

In short, we have accomplished nothing by our hard work in 2010.

Except we have learned a lesson.

And the lesson is this: We need to purify our party and purge it of the likes of John Boehner and all those Congressmen who vote for the budget sellout. The Tea Party must take the lead in this purifying fire. We must not let the RINOs win!

DickMorris.com will post prominently (and permanently) the names of all GOP freshmen who vote for this rotten deal. It will be in a column headed: THESE ARE THE SELLOUTS. Check it out and back their primary opponents!

What the h-ll was going on then behind the scenes? I was under the presumption that Morris was helping advise the Repubs in the negotiations in his “triangulation” strategy... it was the only reason why I held out a tiny slimmer of hope, even though it seemed things were going disastrously. So they weren’t following his advice?

I think he’s spot on in his criticism, btw.

Morris is what I'd call a RINO++. He dislikes Hillary and sees his future earnings go bye-bye in an America destroyed by Zippy and the Rats. He has good inside baseball knowledge, instincts and tactics (he's played for the other side), and imo, should be consulted and listened to by Boner and the GOP.

Logically they should increase funding to Planned Parenthood. It lowers the Rat Base and saves on welfare.

The Republican plan is to leave the citizens with $15,800,000,000,000 dollars of spending debt in this year.

The Democrats plan is to leave the citizens with $15,900,000,000,000 dollars of spending debt in this year.

It is time to redefine the political parties in America, Tea party vs. Enslavement Party. Case closed.

Sorry Dick, you are not the “be all and end all” for everybody out there... your goal is to sell books, as many as you can... which is fine. But look here, I think that while Mr. Teary Eyes did not act to shut down the gub’men’, he has set up some pretty important issues that will weigh heavily in our favor for 2012. As long as Obamy is there and the left has the Senate, you ain’t gunna get much... and if there was a shut down, who knows whether we would come out of it intact or not... this is a “live to fight another day” victory for me... I’m good with it.

The toesucker is right for once. Cutting 10% might have been a nice start. Problem is the only way to pay for all this crazy spending is to print money. Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe, we are here!

How can you blame the GOP? They get demonized by Obama TV (no Fox is no different) 24x7x365 and physically threatened. Thugs were going to go Boehner’s home to dump garbage at his home.

Keep watching TV cause all TV supports them fool. Your viewership supports you slavery.

Never fear ... the world economy will take care of unlimited deficit spending. It will be not be pretty, and it will not be fun ... but Medicare, Medicaid, ObamaCare, Civil Servant Pensions, Welfare, the EPA, the Department of Education, Department of Housing, Department of Energy, Endless Banker Bailouts, Endless Government Guarantees, and Illegal Immigration will be reined in ... eventually ... one way or another. It's happened in many other places before ... and it will happen here. This sh*t cannot go on forever!

Boner has succeeded only in splitting the GOP Caucus.

He will need at least 100 democrat votes to pass this in the House.

Woe comes to the GOP. They should hang their heads in shame.

The deal was a win and a start for better things to come.

Here is why:

“While Republicans wanted to cut more spending in Saturday’s early morning compromise to keep the government open, they think they got the better of the deal.

HR1 was originally to seek spending cuts of $32 billion until Tea Party conservatives insisted on more than $ 60 billion. House Speaker John Boehner won more cuts than he originally sought and got the Senate to agree to votes to defund the health care reform law and groups like the nation’s largest abortion provider Planned Parenthood - once votes Senate Majority leader Harry Reid said he’d never allow to come to the floor.Back on February 3, Reid called $32 billion in cuts ‘extreme’ and ‘draconian.’”

In two weeks comes the battle over raising the debt ceiling and after that, we need to pass most of Ryan’s proposed 2012 budget. The biggest threat we have is the out of control government spending. With a more healthy economy, a lot of our other social ills will lessen or be more likely to be addressed.

And this from the little toe-sucker who wasn’t just a RINO, but was the right-hand PR man/vote checker for William Jefferson Clinton. And now he’s to the right of Attila the Hun? Me thinks the little man is compensating here by swinging his pendulum totally over to the right hoping that everyone will forget his past history of working for a Dem Prez, and getting involved in some hankey pankey (remember the toes). I like Dick Morris in spite of himself, but methinks he doth protest too much.

We will never get anything done...

You should have stopped right there.

We will never get anything done until we march on Washington and burn it to the ground. Only then can we rebuild our Republic under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights...

Until we get rid of the entrenched powers on BOTH sides, nothing will change.

This was reducing the amount that was going to need to be borrowed to run programs that have no capital income to pay for them. This was somehow a plus for the Republicans?

It's like speeding at 99.9 MPH through a 15 MPH school zone instead of going 100 MPH.

He didn’t give anything away. He had little to give or bargain with. It was two against one. So it was a stalemate. No one really won or lost. The squabble was over chump change compared to what has to be done. Actually not much changed from the status quo. So it was much ado about nothing.
