Conservatives are urging their grass-roots colleagues to mute their criticisms of House Speaker John Boehner and the GOP leadership, and to get behind their efforts to address out-of-control spending in Washington.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax on Thursday, former GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra said the tea-party faithful need to give Boehner a little bit of breathing room.

I can’t believe I voted for this guy in the Governor Primaries.
Hey, Hoekstra... You do not tell the TEA Party what to think, say or do. WE WILL TELL YOU, and the rest of your spineless establishment clones EXACTLY WHAT YOU WILL DO! GOT IT?
Now, SIT DOWN, and STFU.
Neither will ragging on the Speaker for idiotic things like his tan or crying. He’s standing firm. I hope he continues. But he needs support not immature babble.
Not quite. Republicans have control of one half of only one branch of government.
If we can take the Senate and the White House next year, we'll control two branches, with a very slim conservative majority in the third.
Brilliant observations, Thermal. Hear, hear!
Immature babble. Of which there has been a major over-supply on all the Boehner threads.
Makes ya wonder where it's coming from...???
“Hoekstra should stop giving us advice. We tell him and the rest of those GOP Politial fixtures what to do.
I never trust anyone who looks like he/she has a year round sun tan. That is why Boehner is the wrong guy to be in the fight on our behalf.”
I think we need a new political paradigm by restoring an old one.
Government only does what everyone can agree to it doing. That means if the democrats can’t agree to goverment doing a lot less then we should NOT share a common government with them socialist scum!
Compromising with the democrats is like compromising with a criminal to steal less from you.
Exactly.
Okay, then, let's talk substance.
From your positing history, I notice that jstolzen manages to post about once a month and always badmouths Republicans.
What should I take away from that?

For the most part I like Hoekstra, but he needs a reality check. He’s there because of us and he works for us. Maybe he’s just sticking up for a friend, but this was just wrong for him to make this statement publicly. Divide and conquer.
The best way to handle Hoekstra’s misstep is to ignore it. Otherwise, getting our panties in a wad over it just feeds the media’s ability to claim we’re in disarray and the Teap Party is the problem.
Anyway, this is a minor blip. Ignore it.
We are THIRTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT!!!!
That IS the reality, it is not sustainable. PERIOD.
No, he wants to enslave every American and all of the other peons too....BUT He will also be erased when his “usefulness” is over....
1) Debt default/economic depression/hyperinflation/loss of reserve currency status are a stones throw away. Nothing short of massive, immediate action can save us.
2) These guys/gals know why they got elected and willingly took the challenge. They also knew full well what they're up against with the Dems and a hostile media.
And one more - they all know, or should have known, the tea party would keep their feet to the fire.
Sorry, all out of sympathy.
When those efforts to "address out-of-control spending in Washington" end up being watered down, we have a problem that needs to be addressed.
We are PAST THE POINT OF COMPROMISE. There is no room for it anymore.
We must end the spending or perish as a viable economy. NOW is the time. Let the RATS shut the government down and lets have the train wreck now. Putting it off only makes it worse.
Breathing room is what allowed these miscreants to get us where we are today. Hell no! Time to double down. Keep the pressure on and increase it.
We vote..... do your job ya friggin polidiots or we elect someone else.....from my home page !
Personally I am loyal to conservative values not people who say they are conservative yet perform like a liberal or moderate socialist. Be they someone we chose yesterday by accident or someone we choose tomorrow on purpose if they stray from conservative values we are not obligated to keep supporting them or staying quiet about their performance.
..... Thus the reason I vote on ones record versus ones promises. Anything less is IMHO a risky bet at best. Such as the lesser of two evils concepts we are usually presented during an election. No polidiot is perfect, no polidiot deserves blind silent devotion. Politics has a human element as we all know and is fallible to the nth degree. Constant attention to its every act is the effort that must be maintained to preserve our beloved republic and liberty.
Just my opinion of course.
So if Boehner goes then we end up with Cantor? In my opinion he’d be a disaster for Republicans and the USA. Cantor is not at all articulate, likable, or truly conservative. I have a problem looking at that sneering little weasel, because when the cameras are on his face is always in it, like a typical self promoting “look at me” ambitious pol.
