In a political bombshell, the clerk in a Republican stronghold is set to release new vote totals giving 7,500 votes in the state Supreme Court race back toward Justice David Prosser, swinging the race significantly in his favor.

The Waukesha County clerk's office has told state elections officials that they will be adjusting the vote totals to give incumbent David Prosser more than 7,000 new votes, said Mike Haas, staff attorney for the state Government Accountability Board.

"Waukesha will be adjusting their vote totals by 14,000," Haas said the Accountability Board was told.

The numbers will add some 11,000 votes for Prosser and some 3,000 for Kloppenburg, he said.

I think it was a “rope-a-dope”. The Dems stole only enough votes to give them what they THOUGHT would be a winning total.

Unfortunately, the dems will probably find 4000 ballots in some truck and another 4000 will turn up in some Madison VFW hall.

This story is actually the same story posted earlier updated, they kept all the comments in place.......

... so you can follow the ups and downs in the conversation as one then the other is on top in the vote counts, quite entertaining.......

The problem is, these full-time politicians, Republicans included, can't be trusted to do anything as "tricky" as run a computerized vote-tally-recording system, enter the necessary passwords, press the necessary buttons, select the necessary modes, sub-modes, enter the proper URLs (or whatever), do this right, the first time.

Most of these people flunked study hall in high school. That's why they're politicians.

I emphasize that I include Republicans in this description. This is not a problem with party, it's a generic problem with politicians. These are people who's main skill is running their mouth and acting like they're listening, while they get their personal agendas rammed through.

You know it and I know it, and the Founders knew it too.

Do you suppose that these are the “lost 5000 votes” in Waukesha Co. that were hinted at last night? The ones that were reported from a “reliable source”, an unnamed State Senator?

Excellent observation. I now hope county district attornies go after voter fraud-especially in Dane county, e.g. non-resident students voting and so forth.

You know, while this is good in the short term sense, it does harm the confidence and security of the voting system overall. The Democrats already cry fraud every time a Republican or conservative wins an election. And we see fraud as well in many elections.

How long can that go on before all hell breaks loose? We truly are less than a third-world country if we can't even run an election cleanly and smoothly.

While I am absolutely thrilled that Prosser is now ahead, and most likely beyond the reach of fraud, the fact that this happened is completely unacceptable.

When this happened in the Franken race in Minnesota, we all were (rightfully) screaming bloody murder.

The person responsible for this needs to be fired... no ifs, ands or buts.
