The problem is, these full-time politicians, Republicans included, can't be trusted to do anything as "tricky" as run a computerized vote-tally-recording system, enter the necessary passwords, press the necessary buttons, select the necessary modes, sub-modes, enter the proper URLs (or whatever), do this right, the first time.

Most of these people flunked study hall in high school. That's why they're politicians.

I emphasize that I include Republicans in this description. This is not a problem with party, it's a generic problem with politicians. These are people who's main skill is running their mouth and acting like they're listening, while they get their personal agendas rammed through.

You know it and I know it, and the Founders knew it too.

Yup. I grew up in Fargo, ND pretty conservative area but the Republicans had their pet projects too-dome stadium on the campus for North Dakota State University, public golf courses near the better residential neighborhoods and so forth-the result taxes kept going up.
