KARL ROVE: Donald Trump Is Discrediting The Entire Republican Party
Business Insider ^ | 3/31/11 | Steven Loeb

Posted on 03/31/2011 7:47:38 PM PDT by jimbo123

onald Trump appeared on the O'Reilly Factor last night and proceeded to reiterate, yet again, how he doesn't think that Obama was born in the United States and that he is not showing his birth certificate because it might show that he is a Muslim and on and on.

It was all of the same stuff he has been saying over and over and over and over and over for the past two weeks. Thankfully, Trump's point of view was not shared by the rest of O'Reilly's guests or even by O'Reilly himself.

During their interview, O'Reilly expressed disbelief that Trump was actually a birther at all, and O'Reilly's next guest, Karl Rove, also tried to distance himself and the rest of the Republican party from Trump's newfound birtherism.

“be prepared to be embarrassed when 0bama does release his birth certificate.”

You can’t produce that which you don’t have because a) it doesn’t exist; b) it was destroyed; or c) it has some ghastly fact on it that Obama can’t afford to have released to the public. I’m a birther through and through. One day, it will all come out (may that day be sooner than later) and you sir, will unfortunately have to eat crow.

If Trump and Palin split the Birther vote, Romney gets the nomination.

Oh for heaven sakes, don’t you guys realize it’s just possible that Trump would like to be President himself? I think the only thing that would slow Trump down from announcing he’s throwing his hat in the ring are the tremendous amount of hoops he would have to jump through with regard to financial disclosure, putting his interests in trust, etc. That might keep him from jumping in, but The Donald has pretty much reached the pinnacle of his business career, and liking a challenge, and not liking the way this country is veering, I think he’d love to be President. The final feather in his career cap. And, believe it or not, I believe The Donald is a patriot. This country has given him much, and he just might want to give something back to it. I know, what a silly concept. Donald might just want to be President.

The Bush family has kinder words for clans Kennedy and Clinton than they do for conservatives in the GOP.

Rove, you and Bush did enough damage already. Why don’t you and all of the Bushes go home and stay there.

In a way Rove is right, the contrast between Trump and many of the Republicans is obvious. They have been conditioned to go along with political correctness and be quiet so MSM doesn't attack.

Trump has cut through the lefts censoring tactics. Makes some of our leaders look weak.

A word of advice to anyone who 'lives and dies' by the birther issue...

I think there are quite a few of us birthers who don't live or die by the issue. Unlike some others, we just notice that there IS an issue, and that it has not yet been resolved. The basic questions have never been answered.

be prepared to be embarrassed when 0bama does release his birth certificate.

So we would be embarrassed when he does exactly what we have been asking him to do for the past three years?

I for one would not be embarrassed at all, except for the country to have such a president. Polls show that a substantial percentage of Americans are not sure that their president was born in America. If Obama were to release a valid long form, it would mean that his INTENTIONAL three year delay had caused tens of millions of Americans to doubt his legitimacy and to waste countless hours trying to learn the truth of his birth. It would put a permanent spotlight on Obama's arrogance and his detachment from mainstream Americans.

In addition, if Obama has a valid long form then his failure to release it probably put Dr. Terrence Lakin in prison. Lakin was court martialed for refusing to deploy to Afghanistan because he questioned Obama's legitimacy as POTUS. Obama must have been familiar with Lakin's case, as it concerned him personally and was very well publicized. Yet Obama did nothing to prove his legitimacy. He could not be bothered to make the one or two phone calls to authorize the release of his original birth documents. Nor did Obama authorize the State of Hawaii to release those documents when Lakin's defense team requested them last September.

Last, if he releases a long form, it would shock the hell out of all those uninformed voters who thought that he had already released his birth certificate. They would finally understand that he had been holding something back. They would see that the crazy birthers had been clamoring to see a document that (1) existed all along, and (2) was different from anything that Obama had previously released.

If Obama finally releases a valid long form, he will have to pay a political price.

I’m completely baffled by these people’s thinking - or, rather, lack of thinking.

I’d wager he never had a paper route, nor flipped a burger at a fast food restaurant. And, we know he never served in the Armed Forces of the US. He’s never had to do any of the things that make a man, a man.

. . .

Well you made me curious so I stumbled over to his biography on Wikipedia. You’d be correct.

Rove essentially entered national politics in ‘68 while in high school where he worked on Bob Bennett’s father’s campaign.

Politics is just a game to men like Rove who have been part of the establishment for decades and they don’t particularly care about the effects of policies on people like us who have to live with the consequences. While for us it’s a matter of survival, to insiders like him it’s just a numbers game and friendly rivalry between the two parties. Interlopers like the TEA Party and Trump are not welcome.

My thought, too.

Trump is discrediting the GOP in that he’s willing to speak out and ask questions whereas the GOP establishment is merely content to give lap dances to the Democrats.

Its not emotional its common sense. People don't like being hoodwinked. After going around congress to pull US into another ME conflict. It is even more important to know and question Obama's background and intentions. Especially will his radical connections. Why Libya, Egypt what is the agenda. Why the destructive oil policies, and financial suicide?

He said some things that I have been thinking for years. It was so refreshing!

The way Rove is defending this B.C. issue you would almost think he has as much skin in on the issue as Pelosi and who knows how many others. What’s up with these turds defending the big cover up that Obama has been keeping?

In the beginning I cannot imagine why but now they need to save face because they have been so totally vehement about Ob being born in the USA and consistently mocking and deriding everyone who questioned it.

.probably one that will discredit any opponent who builds his/her candidacy on that issue.

There are many, many issues and no one is building their entire candidacy only on the birth issue. If Ob reveals his bc at a later date it will probably be a fraud and I would ask what took you so long if it wasn't. It should have been shown in the first place and to use it as a tool to entrap people (as some Repubs constantly repeat that he is doing) is a dirty, rotten trick. I'd rub his nose in it . Besides born in this country or not those in the know know he is not a natural born citizen in the first place as his alleged father was not a US citizen .

who are all caught up in this “birther” issue have the appearance of placing all their eggs in that one basket.

I'm a birther and I certainly don't put all my eggs in that one basket. There are so many eggs with Ob that my basket cannot contain them all. That doesn't, though, make this issue any less important. It is first a matter of our precious Constitution and second a matter of National security.
