that’s a double ringy dingy for wealth redistribution

Your house (future white middle class nest egg) is worth less or worthless

and the useless eaters are pulling ever more property taxes out of your wallet for your white middle class privilege of having bought a home

The Housing market will not recover until the government stops interfering with it, artificially propping it up and not allowing the free market to determine the value of things.

I will be protesting my real estate taxes this year.

I’ve been keeping track of home sales in my area so I will be prepared to challenge my tax bill.

All belts will be tightened. Including those who depend on tax money for their pay checks.

Hennepin County (Minneapolis, MN) raised property taxes 17.5% for this year.

We sold our home in Mpls last Sept. and only got this notice because the deed had not transferred as of the date of mailing. It would have added over $50 to our monthly payment.

What planet are these uber-libs living on? There is probably only one way left to stop this nonsense.

And, it ain't gonna be pretty.

If this gains any traction, look for the Democrats to seriously ramp-up the War on Bankers and enforce some kind of cramdown program on mortgage principles. Anything to deflect attention away from how much the Gubbermint has their hands in the cookie jar.

A few years ago our real estate assessment went down by 100K. Our property tax went up 300 bucks nonetheless.

Something remarkable happened to property taxes in the U.S. while housing lost 31% of its value from 2006 to 2009: they went up by $100 billion (27%).

Yup!

That is exactly the reason.

Could Declining House Values Spark the Next Taxpayer Rebellion?

The current one's not over yet!
