Businessman and "Apprentice" television star Donald Trump blasted President George Bush today, calling him "probably the worst president in the history of the United States," and blaming his 2004 victory on the Democrat ticket.
Appearing on CNN's "Situation Room," Trump was asked by host Wolfe Blitzer his opinion of Democrat presidential candidate John Edwards.
"I don't know him," Trump answered. "People like him. I know people that like him very much, but I really don't know him."
Trump went on to say that Edward's experience as John Kerry's 2004 running mate was a negative in his estimation.
"Well, I think that's a huge negative, because that was a shame that that race was lost, because look what we have right now," Trump said. "It's a disaster. So, you know, I would probably be inclined not to like him on the basis that he lost an election that should have been won. That election should have been won."
Trump noted that the blame fell on Kerry as well.
"He's a friend of mine. But I'm so upset that he blew it," he said.
"I think Bush is probably the worst president in the history of the United States. And I just don't understand how they could have lost that election."
Asked about Hillary Clinton, Trump praised the former first lady, saying he thought she was ready to be commander-in-chief.

If he can expose Obama's eligibility problem with this, then good. But it should be viewed in the proper context.
In the past Trump has shown a clear allegiance with the far left. And as for all the other destructive actions by Obama--starting with A, proceeding with Obamacare and ending with Z--I don't remember Trump uttering a single word.
To truly earn credit for standing up to Obama, Trump would have to match the fight and the spirit of someone like Sarah Palin.
I say he doesn't come close.
Any Leftist jerk that wants to climb up has to step on Bush first. It’s required.
Uh, put The Donald to the left of JUAN.
OK, anything I liked about Trump last week I take back. For good.
He donated to Rahm Emanuel’s mayoral campaign because he values “friendships” over ideology. That told me everything I needed to know about him.
Me too!
And I say...you're right.
Let's see if he means what he says, because he has never been a conservative.
What is ironic, is that he thought Bush was a disaster. Then what does he think about Obama?
Trumps can never buy one drop of the class the Bush family has. He knows it, he can’t do a thing about it, and by trying he can only continue to prove it is so.
Trump seems to be headed the way of Ted Turner. He’s getting kookier by the day.
You have just make the precipitous fall from potential GOP candidate to Cindy Sheehan-like WHACK JOB .
You are hereby NOT fit for GOP candidacy!
For good reason. Trump is a liberal.
Yeah, Trump is a puke of the first order.
It was fashionable to dump on Bush a few years ago.
He'll do whatever gains him points.
If this exposure of Trump’s leftist leanings has ticked you off so much, I’d say you should try to get your priorities straight.
My mother said to me many times as I was growing up... "just because somebody makes a lot of money doesn't mean they know anything".
He may be a dumb leftist, but who really cares what his political opinions are?
If he can get the birth certificate issue more publicity and make the public more doubtful about Obama’s eligibility, then I’ll be happy.
BTW, anybody know how many times Trump has filed for bankrupcy?
