She was at least the first woman candidate for vice-president . She cut the path to such ideas. Of course, Mondale didn’t help her to win any. She also supported Sarah Palin’s efforts and felt the attacks on her are massive gender bias by the liberals. RIP.

Miss her everyday.I understand, and I too, am sorry for your loss. So many things only your Mom knows about you. No one can replace her.

I never liked her politics, obviously, but as she aged she revealed herself as a very decent person.
RIP.

She also had the guts to say about Obama that if he were a white man with such a thin resume, he would not have been the candidate. She was blasted in the media but refused to back down because what she said was true!
Disagreed with her on many issues but she did appear to be willing to discuss facts and truth - a characteristic sadly lacking in too many of today’s Democrats!

RIP. Thoughts and prayers for her family. Is there any thread on FR that doesn't find a way to mention Sarah Palin?!?

Lost my mother to complications due to Alzhimers...
July 9 last year...at the age of 94. They don't get too old or ill for it not to hurt like heck.

Ferraro was one of the ladies who broke the ceiling in politics.
But I consider someone like Jeane Kirkpatrick much closer to the true nature of A Woman of Leadership Stature. She was the Best of the Best.

One other thing about her I actually respected was that after the race she quietly left the scene. She didn’t stick around and make the usual snotty liberal appearances and blame everyone for their loss. She had been on many discussion shows but stated things respectfully and with dignity. She was a liberal, no doubt, but she never appeared to be nasty like a usual liberal.

It would be interesting to put this thread side-by-side with a recent DU thread about the death of a prominent Republican, on the editorial page of any major newspaper.
Never happen, though; the DU thread would require too much editing or too many **** replacing words!

You don't have to 'find a way' on a thread about Geraldine Ferraro to talk about Sarah Palin.
Strange sensitivity to factual and logical discussion you have there....

On election night she was on Fox News with Sarah Palin and Palin was so gracious to her.
To: library user
Ditto. She died from complications resulting from blood cancer. Yikes. Any word on memorials or such?

Prayers lifted, that she rest in peace, and that her family find comfort from their loss.
Prayers for Japan.

I’ve always admired women in politics who are gutsy without a chip on their shoulder.
Geraldine was one of them.
