Obama Faces Political Storm Over Libya When Congress Returns
fox ^ | 3/24/11 | fox

President Obama can't hold off Congress much longer.

In the form of hearings, media appearances and possibly a vote, Congress is determined to have its say on the Libyan conflict when lawmakers return to Washington next week.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been grumbling ever since the president ordered U.S. missile strikes on Muammar al-Qaddafi's regime in support of a U.N.-authorized no-fly zone Saturday. But the unrest is reaching a boiling point and from the top down, elected officials are pressing for questions about the U.S. role in the assault to get a full airing on Capitol Hill next week. The coalition's involvement deepened after French fighter jets shot down a Libyan plane amid allegations Qaddafi's forces violated the no-fly zone.

Why would he be in trouble if he got the proper authorizations and the congress was informed as Nancy Peloser says?

Yes. I’m sure some of them will have some harsh words for him — followed by even MORE harsh words the following day — just in time for for the next ‘news cycle’.

Congress should have returned immediately when we went to war against the Libyian dictator without consulting Congress. The United States wasn’t threatened and there was no need for the war, without consulting Congress and the American people. We don’t have a king that can do anything he wants.

What if Congress disapproves Barrys attack on Lybia? Do we just pull out and go home?

I hope these new Pubbies rummaged through their closets and found their spines when they were home last week.

Time to put a STOP to the Usurper-n-Thief. And they called Nixon the “Imperial President.” This clown could give Dick some lessons.

By the left’s own standards, Obama is now a war criminal and should be turned over to an international tribunal at the Hague for prosecution.

The United States wasn’t threatened and there was no need for the war, without consulting Congress and the American people. We don’t have a king that can do anything he wants. Agreed, let's compare these points about Qadaffi against Saddam Hussein, and you'll find that Libya is even less justifiable than Iraq.

Qadaffi made an official report on whatever WMD he had, whereas Saddam wouldn't sumbit to inspections.

Bush was granted Congressional Approval and funding before the official invasion of Iraq (Operation: Iraqi Freedom). Has Obama done it yet?

What is more vague? When some guy says protecting civilians, or when someone says replacing the regime.

Here, IMO, it seems that whomever is asking to support this action in Libya is a tool, and is rediculous, because Libya is less justifiable than Iraq was back in 2002-2003.

Back when New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey was on the verge of being indicted for various crimes I predicted that his way out of the mess would be to stop denying all of the swirling rumors over his sexual orientation, because the resulting cultural panic would make people completely forget about the bribery and corruption.

McGreevey did my prediction one better by announcing at a press conference that “His truth was that he was a Gay American”. Brilliant! The man never served a day in jail.

I gotta suspect that people are thinking along similar lines in the Obama White House right now. Things are just going to keep on getting worse, because Obama has dug a hole from which there is no digging out. Libya is the cherry on top of the sh!t sundae of his own creation. So, what is a President to do?

Simple. Stop denying the Birther rumors. Admit that you are not a native-born citizen. The resulting Constitutional crisis would make everybody completely forget about everything else. Obama can be hounded out of office with his head held high and the idiots on the Left can talk for another fifty years about how great a President he might have been...

My prediction is that somewhere in the basement of the White House, people are trying to concoct an innocent explaination of how Obama could run for President without realizing that he is Constitutionally ineligible. I’m guessing that Momma is about to go under the bus. Of course, her deception would have come out of a mother’s earnest desire for her child to have a better life as an American citizen, so maybe she doesn’t have to go under the bus at all.

“The coalition’s involvement deepened after French fighter jets shot down a Libyan plane amid allegations Qaddafi’s forces violated the no-fly zone.”

the over use of the word alleged is getting absurd. it was a NO-fly zone. what happen, was the plane shot down while on the ground? did the pilot just fly it into the ground after seeing a french fighter? are we not sure who the plane belonged to?

journalists who are taught to write this way should sue their school for malpractice.
