Elizabeth Taylor, the Hollywood icon who was as famous for her eight marriages as she was for her 54 movies and two Oscars, died this morning of congestive heart failure at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Hospital,

She almost died of pneumonia during the filming of Cleopatra.
Many don’t know it, but that movie was originally conceived as a two-parter. Cleopatra and Julius Ceasar and Cleopatra and Mark Antony
(a blurb from the excerpts on the DVD)
Catherine Zeta Jones Hands down. She looks REAL.
I too, once saw her up close and personal, so stunning was she, all I could do was stammer. She said, I was cute and I completely melted into a puddle.
RIP
Could you not wait for Liz's body to at least assume room temperature before suggesting this outrage?
Angelina? The tattooed hussy whose lips look like swamp buggy tires? Whose acting skills range from A to B? Play Liz? Wouldn't Angelina be better cast in an update of "Bride of Frankenstein?"
Moderator!!!! Sacrilege here!
I have an aunt that has the health problems that Miss Taylor had...always on the frail side..sick is a terrible way through s long life
Think that Cleopatra almost bankrupted the studio at the time
National Velvet was always a favorite of mine
RIP Miss Taylor
She was unbelievably beautiful, a wonderful lady and graceful.
Except in Butterfield 8. Actually even, she was stunning.
“The Last Movie Star”
Truth.
“Wonder if she was met by Mike Todd or Richard Burton?
Both!”
Actually, don’t you think all her exes, except Larry Fortensky met her on the other side?
Beautiful woman. Unmatched eye color except by an alien race IMO.
You know that many folks think they will be reunited with their spouses in heaven? Won’t it be a little crowded on Liz’s cloud?.
Just wonderin’
RIP
Next time you watch Cleopatra, pay close attention to Hadrian’s Arch when she enters Rome. Yes, that is an Air Craft Carrier in the background. Cecil B. DeMille can move the Red Sea. But he can’t move the 7th Fleet.
A darn good looking female—no Hedy Lamarr, of course—and a fine actress.
“That’s Hedley, not Hedy!”
Death scenes always take longer in the movies.
Clint Eastwood
What a broad! What a life! RIP, violet eyes.
I was thinking about the two great loves of her life apart from her kids
Listen to this story.. My dad is a writer and did a story on Mike Todd.
They became friends and Todd asked my Dad to write his autobiography.
At the last minute, my Dad had to pull out because of other obligations.
When Todd died in that plane crash, there were a couple of other people on that flight with him... One of them was the guy who was writing his book. That would have been my dad and I would not have been born.
Weird, huh?
because he was a cowardly wife beater - so your point?
She just died - can you give it a rest?
RIP, Dame Elizabeth. You gave a lot. You suffered a lot - with great dignity and compassion for others.
And THANK YOU for all the great, top shelf entertainment.
*When Paul Newman turned down her advances, I always envisioned the entire heterosexual male portion of the audience enthusiastically volunteering their services. LOL*
With Big Daddy in the background muttering about “mendacity”!
