Chavez says capitalism may have ended life on Mars

CARACAS (Reuters) - Capitalism may be to blame for the lack of life on the planet Mars, Venezuela's socialist President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday.
"I have always said, heard, that it would not be strange that there had been civilization on Mars, but maybe capitalism arrived there, imperialism arrived and finished off the planet," Chavez said in speech to mark World Water Day.
Chavez, who also holds capitalism responsible for many of the world's problems, warned that water supplies on Earth were drying up.

On the top floor of our office building in Arlington, VA is an oil services company...when I get in the elevator, many of their employees speak spanish to each other — they are from Venezuela, and fled the country after Chavez nationalized the oil industry. They now work as engineers at the US based company.
Venezuela produces a fraction of the oil it once did, now that the industry was nationalized. Most of the Venezuelan talent went to the US, Mexico or Canada. Jobs in the Venezuelan oil company were given to Cronies of Chavez — didn’t matter if the people receiving the favors knew anything about the oil industry...
True nutjob.
