Reporting from San Salvador and Washington President Obama may hasten his return to Washington as the U.S.-led military strike against Libya increasingly distracts from his Latin America trip.
As Air Force One touched down in El Salvador on Tuesday afternoon, the White House announced changes to the president's itinerary. A visit planned for Wednesday to the Metropolitan Cathedral in San Salvador, where slain Archbishop Oscar Romero is buried, was shifted to Tuesday. Obama was also scheduled Wednesday to tour Mayan ruins one hour outside the capital city, but it is now unclear whether he would do so.
Obama is set to hold a bilateral meeting with President Mauricio Funes of El Salvador on Tuesday, followed by a joint news conference. Funes hosts the president and first lady for an official dinner Tuesday night. Obama was scheduled to return to Washington on Wednesday evening.

It's decisions like this that make the presidency partyboy in chief the loneliest job in the world. Really.
As another FReeper (whose name escapes me, now) pointed out a few days ago - the big problem with all of the trips Obama takes, is that he always finds his way home....
Why cut short his trip? I know they have golf courses in Brazil.
0bummer, I like it so much better when he’s away and distracted from destroying America from the inside. When he’s abroad, we the people get a little reprieve from his agenda.
Moochelle must be reeling!
He’s going to cut his vacation short by one day? Wow! He is a real leader.
He just found out that San Salvador doesn’t have a beach.
Damage control - his poll numbers aren’t looking so good.
He has to return to seize back power from Madame Clinton!
Well, it's not as though it's interrupting her gold games. besides, he can leave her behind. After all, we can pay for another flight home, can't we?
“Today, we have struck back,” Clinton said in a surprise announcement at the Massachusetts island resort of Martha’s Vineyard, where he cut short his vacation and returned to Washington for a late afternoon conference with his national security team in the White House situation room.

In Sudan, government television broadcast pictures of shattered concrete structures {Asprin factory] burning brightly against Khartoum’s night sky. The announcer’s commentary on the state-run broadcast promised to “build another factory, better than the first.”

He looks worried. /s
BTW, Michelle has a hard time matching/coordinating her shoes to her outfit. She must not have any lights and/or mirrors around her. I don't see a speck of turquoise in her outfit.
Why is he skipping Peru? I hear Machu Picchu would make a great putting green. If he hit it too hard, it might only take a couple days to hike back up...
Cannot be she ate a couple of pigs and is now on the john.
Hmmm interesting wording... HIS return. I wouldn't be surprised if they send another jumbo at taxpayer's expense so that Michelle et al can stay on vacation....
When SEIU says “jump”, he jumps.
(I hear they are in a bit of trouble today based on a few stories.)
His base (government workers, union workers, welfare recipients, illegals, terrorists, communists, etc.) will never abandon him. I think he heard there's a good weather forecast for some of his favorite golf courses... time to "seize the moment" and go play.
internal polling numbers for the Absentee Warlord not looking good?
Good choice. It’s a lot cheaper for us taxpayers for him to do his normal failing whilst at home vs more expensive failing when he’s abroad.
But we must remember, no matter where he is, he’ll fail.
‘Cuz he’s a moron!!!!!
