"Oh yes. Let's elect a woman to be POTUS simply because "It's time". "

EXACTLY. This is one of the reason, and arguably the biggest reason we're stuck with Obama; Too many people thought it "was time" for a black president.

Ditto! I also HATE the pitting of one sex against the other! It's soooooooooooooo grade school!

No, it isn’t Sarah. "It’s time for a conservative American patriot to be president. The genetalia of said person isn’t important. I think I’ll be looking elsewhere. I’m tired of typical stupidity such as this."

Could be she was talking about herself.

Uh, no Sarah. As much as I like her, this is a ridiculous statement. What it is time for is a person who is serious about righting this sinking ship of a country and who will not take crap from the leftists/marxists in this country (many in the halls of congress). It’s time to treat shady politicians with equal application of the law and measuring these individuals for orange jumpsuits and a proper fit while everything said pol was involved with gets defunded. It’s time to turn off the fed reserve spigot and without doubt it is a time to treat American citizens equally and knock off the “special interest” group thinking. There is NO right to absolute happiness, only the right to pursue happiness WITHOUT infringing on another citizens liberty.

That, Sarah, is just a partial of “what it is time for”.

"Give me a brake she was being tongue and cheek."

You know this, how? Are you clairvoyant? The story says the line was met with "applause". It says nothing about "laughter".

I'm assuming she was perfectly serious, until someone proves otherwise.

Oh yes. Let's elect a woman to be POTUS simply because "It's time".

Of course that depends on which "woman".

It is definitely time for the men who lack the gonads, principles, and integrity to lead, to step aside and STFU.

Umm, well yeah that stuff too

#19...

Since I don't see a Republican male who is up the fight and the GOP's most ferocious conservative warriors are women, she may be right.

"First, the author doesnt seem to quote her"

Did you miss the "quotes" in the headline? The story itself uses quotation marks around the statement in the article itself. It self-evidently quotes her.

I’m quite certain that she is, but it doesn’t matter.

What if I go out there and say it’s time for a white guy to be president?

These are division politics.

It is NOT time for a woman to be president. it IS time for a patriotic american ot be president. If that patriot happens ot be a woman, then fine.

But I ain’t about to elect a person because they have ovaries.

Gimme a ****ing break...

Well, when I look around the GOP I don’t see (m)any males s who aren’t squishes

That's no reason to choose a candidate simply because she has boobies.

Apologies to the humor-impaired.

I can’t remember the exact words, but she was responding to a question being asked by the interviewer who refrerred to a Hillary Clinton talking about the number of women leaders elected in Latin America. I no way did I sense that Palin said we need a woman president just because she was a woman.

She said it in response to a question, “Do you think a woman *can* become President of the United States?” I don’t remember the exact phrasing. She replied that being female isn’t an impediment and then said that. I’m female and would much rather have a man than a woman be President subject to the condition that he be the stronger candidate.

Obviously she thinks it’s time—she is planning to run. But she hasn’t declared and will get kicked off Fox prematurely if she speaks definitely now, so she needs to be coy as well.

She’s not talking about a female president quota—jeesh!

I agree. It was powerful statement in a country that understands powerful woman and the good they can bring to a country.

I do find it interesting that this comment by Gov Palin is exposing a lot of people to the real reason the PDSers don't like Palin..... Just the thought of a woman POTUs sends them into fits...

I agree with your input...The only woman whom I even considered was Jeane Kirkpatrick. No other woman impresses me as having ALL the qualities necessary for President.

Of course, that makes a case for Obama...you don't need any qualities...just money and a "specialized" voting base....aka...."ignorant"...

I think this was also in part a shot at the thumpers who still think a woman's place is in the home, cooking and spitting out babies.
