He lost his job over predicting the Loma Prieta
earthquake because the city was worried about
the impact on the big baseball game. Jim was
spot on. It’s no guaranty, but a higher probabilty.
If you’re prepared for an earthquake that
doesn’t happen...no harm. If you aren’t

you really cant be prepared going across the Bay Bridge. That thing terrifies you if you stop to think about it. They dont even know, or wont say, how many people went off that thing in the last earthquake.
