Just why are so many American Jews so self-loathing? Are they guilty they have survived, given the crimes against people in WWII? Is this their way of assuaging their guilt by wanting their death? A little number-crunching perspective here. 60% of white Catholics voted for Republicans in November 2010.

In 2008 Catholics supported Obama over McCain (54% to 45%), which was a 7-percent increase since the previous 2004 election when Kerry had only 47% of the overall Catholic vote. A reason behind the sudden 7-point shift is the Latino vote because two-thirds of Hispanics cast their vote for Obama.

Overall, lookee here: Weekly Attending White Catholics voted more Republican than did Weekly Attending White Mainline Protestants.

And, naturally, a tip o' the hat to the Weeky Attending White Evangelical Protestants. They have ALL of our gratitude and respect.
