Of course, they would have to request it, but Obama should have already ordered it. We don't have a lot of money left, but this stuff is important.

You gotta’ hand it to the Japanese. They don’t waste any time when the jig is up.

The networks are all aflutter with the earthquake disaster. They don’t seem to realize that almost everyone has CATASTOPHE fatigue.

Has Obama pissed off Japan yet?

Guess not. He’s managed to do that to most of our allies.

Maybe he’ll send them I-pods with his speeches on it.

Crisis? Obama? Rest assured the decision has NOTHING
to do with US security.

Obama’s first questions: What is the color of their skin?
Are they one of our “PEOPLE”?

This quake will have an impact on the Japanese economy for quite a while. Since Japan is a major trade partner for the US, the earthquake will have an impact on our exports to Japan and thus will impact our economy.

Economies in the Pacific Rim were already slowing because of high commodity prices. This earthquake, combined with what is going on the rest of the PacRim will slow down our “recovery”.

The good news (for the short term) is that Japan has shut down their refineries causing crude oil prices to go down. But when they restart those refineries and begin rebuilding...look out.

The USS Blue Ridge has been urgently re-directed to Japan to help with the earthquake and tsunami situation.

Pretty funny. I was sick of this story 2 seconds after I read the chyron.

My prediction: doppy MSM “reporters standing on the beaches of Hawaii and California waiting for waves that never come.

Can Obama blame his missing BC on the Tsunami?

My son is stationed on Okinawa. He says the Japanese HATE the US Military. For them to ask for US military assistance is significant.

Sad to say, my son says the ill will tends to be mutual. We’ll see what effect this event has.

My grandson, is in the Navy and is stationed in Japan, his parents haven't heard from him, but are taking heart in the announcement that all US troops are accounted for.

Of course, Japan, like every other foreign country, can rail about getting the US troops out but the minute that a natural disaster occurs, call Uncle Sugar.

There will be an out pouring of verbal support from all the UN countries, and they will step back, hold our coat and hand us the shovel.

It was 4AM actually, according to the news. And yes, he's already authorized it. They're already landing commercial jets at U.S. military bases because Narita is full of airplanes that they won't allow to take off. I imagine Obama will respond in any way the Japanese ask him to.
