Oh! No, the minimum is much more minimum than 390. It’s 268 when I researched it twenty years ago.
Do you have more recent information? What’s your source?
Sorry, I failed to answer your question :p
The first one was about 3-5 minutes straight.. settled down to a tremor, but about every 7-10 minutes another big one would hit again.. the last one was about 15 minutes ago... still having a minor continuous tremble though.. never witnessed this before.
Among the most incredible/horrifying footage I’ve ever seen. The debris-filled (with houses, cars, etc.) water just didn’t stop, scooping up everything in its path. It headed for that highway and those cars and trucks didn’t have a chance. Nothing those folks could’ve done.
HOLY CRAP!!!
Look at the real time coverage of the tsunami wave on its way in!!!!!
The USGS website has the estimated years for the last 6 or 7 events, and IIRC the minimum was 390 years...
Lemme see if I can find it again.
3 to 5 minutes! That must’ve seemed like an eternity.
Just heard there was a 7.4 aftershock. Man o man.
Relieved to see your post, AiT! Hope you’re okay.
One of our foreign exchange students is now a member of the Japanese Navy. Hoping he is safe. One of the others lives in Nagasaki with his family. I pray he also is safe. The third student is in Kagoshima. Sighing with concern.
Its absolutely TERRIBLE..my heart goes out to everyone affected by this. I thought that one was the big one too and that it would never stop. I also remember the Big Bear quake, heck I remember them all
California coast now under a tsunami watch.
Absolutely amazing... Anyone near that wouldn’t have a chance...
Shaking again... about a 4.5 - 5...
Thanks. I appreciate it.
I remember the Big Bear quake as well (I pretty much remember them all going back to the Saugus quake).
I am aghast! I cannot believe what I am seeing.
I have never prayed so hard in my life.
This is like a disaster move but it is real and happening in front of my eyes!
Northern Coast or Southern Coast? I am watching CBS 2 right now and they are not talking about any Tsunami warning here in SoCal
It’s still going on.... as a matter of fact.. while typing this, I am having a side to side toosh massage :p (about a 3 now)..
very unusual
hang in there!
At least you still have Internet access!!
Thank god you’re okay man!!
I could not sleep - got up for a bit and saw this.
Praying for you in the midwest.
Are you ok? hope you home and family are safe!
Take care and let us pull through this in 1 piece.
Bikk
