So unfav: Palin's poll plunge
Politico ^ | 3/10/11 | ANDY BARR

Sarah Palin’s unfavorable rating is off the charts.

The former Alaska governor’s numbers are astonishingly upside-down, according to a new Bloomberg poll showing a 32 percentage point spread between those who have an unfavorable rating of Palin and those who view her favorably.

Of the 60 percent in the poll who have an unfavorable opinion of Palin, more than half of them – 38 percent among the whole survey – said they have a “very” unfavorable view of Palin.

Her “very” unfavorable rating is higher than the total favorability ratings of Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump and Chris Christie.

The new poll is a dip from a December Bloomberg poll showing Palin with a net favorable rating of 33 percent and a net unfavorable rating of 57 percent.

The survey is just one more indicator that if Palin were to run, she'd face a very strong headwind whenever trying to reach out to voters beyond her hardcore supporters.

More people surveyed had an opinion of Palin than any other politician surveyed except for Barack Obama, indicating that her numbers are not likely to swing wildly one way or the other.

The poll of 1,001 adults was conducted March 4-7 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

I think there is a mathematical formula out there: The liberal antipathy is equal two times the mass of the sense the Conservative (Sarah) makes.

The lib machine didn't like Reagan much did they?

A Bloomberg poll...meaning orchestrated by Mayor Bloomberg, a stinking RINO with Presidential ambitions...says Palin is bad. Gee, what’s an unbiased source like NPR have to say, I wonder?

That I highly doubt. Too many people involved, and if Mike Bloomberg (who has enemies everywhere) ever got caught finessing the news, both careers (journalist & politician) would be over just like that. Let's just say that it doesn't bother him that the people who run Bloomberg News for him are disproportinately liberal.

They’ve been saying that everyone hates her since 2009.

In the meantime, she real conservatives be a part of the biggest election tromping in 70 years.

Oh, and they’re scared bleepless of her.

If the MSM says it, the opposite is true.

Could be. There’s always people that don’t like someone on both sides.

I have no ax to grind. I just think victory is more likely if we are honest about the real state of things.

I agree the poll numbers are frightening even among conservative pollsters for Palin.

It's possible the numbers could change if she runs a great campaign and wins the GOP nomination. But, conservatives can't just assume the poll are fraudulent. Getting rid of Obama has to be the top priority.

Marxist Obama as resident in chief for four years guarantees us a renewal of true republicanism in both the congress and the white house. We the people are fed up with socialism and the corrupt Marxist bastards ramming unconstitutional acts down our throats, witness the tea party rebellion. We want our freedom and our constitutional republican form of government back!! And we’re going to get it!!

Other than citing the Tina Fey line of “seeing Russia from her house,” Bernstein couldn’t name one issue about which Palin has such ignorance.

That's a typical lib. They never have any facts to back up their feelings. They also think Republicans want old people to eat dog food. However, a perception is a perception. It doesn't matter if the negative perception is baseless. If people can't tell the difference between Palin and Tina Fey it means they are too stupid learn any different.

“Good vs pure evil. It’ll be a landslide.”

For which side? I'd like to take the triumph of good for granted, but the world doesn't seem to work that way.

Governor Palin’s “negatives” aren't insurmountable. They come from an insubstantial PR hate campaign and will likely dissipate like morning fog in the sunshine of a real campaign, if Palin plays her cards right. But she may not. She has very little room for error. The left’s vilification left a serious mark and there's no use pretending that it didn't.

We're just going to have to live through this election cycle to see how it turns out.

Hating Sarah is fashionable. I will support her and vote for her if she is our nominee. I think she’d make a great President.

But, I don’t think this poll is a lie, and supporters may as well admit it’s a problem. It’s not a deserved problem, but it’s a problem nonetheless.

Careful boy. Frank assessments of Governor Palin's political future leave a lot of people scratching their heads around here. As things stand right now, she won't be winning the primaries in NY, California, NE, and several other states with lots of delegates. She and Mike Huckabee are dealing with the same problem, albeit for different reasons. That's not to say she can't win at some point in the future. Just that she probably should have run for senator, if she wanted the nomination this time around.

That being said, I like Sara Palin. I admire her, and I will gladly vote for her if she wins the Republican nomination. That being said, should she decide to run as a Tea Party candidate, I will be rooting for her to become some polar bear's breakfast on her next hunting trip.

The real question is where she will stand after the campaign starts. If she can win the nomination by taking control of the message and bringing it directly to the people without the far left socialist filter of MSNBC/CNN, then she deserves the nomination. If instead we allow Romney to control the message and get the nomination, then America deserves another four years under Obama’s transition from freedom to communism.

Your dad -- those bomber pilots had real brass ones. Someone very close to many, many WWII pilots once told me that the bomber pilots were very different from fighter jocks, and in her opinion, were perhaps even more courageous in their way than the fighter pilots. She said the bomber pilots were often in more dangerous situations, their planes weren't nimble, like the fighters were, and their pilots really had to tough it out -- they had to fly THROUGH the flack, they had to defend and repel attacking enemy fighters but couldn't go on offense, they had to provide leadership for the whole crew of men on the plane, and overall, personality wise, the bomber pilots were a type that was very calm and confident, whereas fighter pilots were a little more excitable (!) and impulsive. Of course she hugely admired both types of pilots, but mentioned that the bomber pilots were, in a way, underrated in their heroism because they couldn't be aces, the way jocks could.

Thank God for men like your Dad.

Let them play with their charts and graphs and go to sleep with visions of obamaplums dancing in their heads on election night, only to wake up to President Sarah Palin the next morning, in a landslide.

You think they've been reeling since November 2nd, just wait and see what they do if that scenario happens.

The path from here to Nov. 2012 is pretty clear to me, especially when it comes to Sarah Palin. She's going to do what she wants to do, and what she and her staff think will get done whatever it is she wants to do. I plan to watch and react accordingly. If she's in then I'm all for her. Polls at this point are of absolutely no value whatsoever IMHO.

If she runs I'll support her. If she has what it takes, and I'm pretty certain she does, she'll do just fine. If she loses, so be it. God has something else in mind for America.

I have enough on my plate right now that I can find plenty to keep me occupied until we find out how the 2012 elections turn out.

A large part of me would just as soon see her go her separate way and enjoy life without the stress and hazards of being a public official.

I feel the same way about Newt. IMHO he has a lot to offer. And him getting in the race is the only way we'll know for sure.

I say line ‘em up, turn ‘em loose and let's see who does what. A few months of that and we'll have a much better foundation on which to swear allegiance to someone. There are certainly several of them I could happily and wholeheartedly support. And I few I hope get off the bus at the next stop.

Funny the laundry list you sight makes her sound like a democrat did the democrats or liberals or the brain dead
who participated in the poll see your list if so you would think her favor ability the poll would be higher among the above listed demographics. People who have heard Sara and believe in her and her ideals like her I know I do.

Screw the poll and screw all the dishonest poll takers who know nothing about her other than what the media tells them

Palin vs Obama would be like Reagan vs Carter. Shining city on a hill vs doom and gloom malaise, depression and fear. Life vs death. Freedom vs socialism and slavery. Good vs pure evil. It’ll be a landslide.

A landslide it will be -- Sarah will crush the Marxist. (> 370EV)

This election will truly be a choice between Liberty and Tyranny.
