As a Father myself, I understand his feelings completely.

I would not publicize what I would do to him, though.

He's not just doing this for revenge. He's doing it out of a sense of justice, which is why it is necessary to make a public statement like this. There's no such thing as "hidden justice" in a political/social order like ours.

The public statement also serves a secondary purpose of making other people feel comfortable with this kind of thing. I, for one, don't think that is such a bad thing.
