Dear all,
Normally I never make pitches for particular Jewish programs, especially not to the general community. But Los Angeles is currently undergoing a crisis with regard to its Jewish education system. The Jewish community's political conservatism is almost entirely reliant on religious Jews -- without this program, religious Jews will quickly become a tiny minority in Los Angeles and fade away.
Therefore, I'm writing to you now in the hopes that you'll visit this website and vote: Return on Investment Los Angeles.
Dennis Prager is an honorary member of our board; I'm a member of the board. This is a charitable program, and will make an enormous difference politically and religiously.
Thanks all,
Ben Shapiro
Sometimes they write themselves.
Dear Ben:
I am a Christian who actually had the opportunity to manage several large law firms in LA and Beverly Hills where most of the lawyers were of Jewish heritage and a few were even Orthodox. That experience reminded me that we are all brothers under God, so I have a great deal of respect for what you are trying to do!
I have read the comments on the website with regard to the proposal and there seems to be some concerns...do you think these can be worked out amongst the community?
Almost all voted for the Muslim and most still love him.
They're so open minded, they won't even take their own side in an argument.
I don't know exactly how that's going to work out, but it's hard to see how it will be good, no matter how many boards and committees you go out and fund-raise for.
I sure don't like it, but there it is.
I do believe so. Many of those comments are from ultra-Orthodox who are not pro-Israel, and who will not be helped by the program.
While I sympathize with your cause, and will visit the website, this post is not an editorial.
“The Jewish community’s political conservtism....”
Say what? In LA? What are you smoking?
Since when are people allowed to solicit funds for pet charities on Free Republic? This could be the start of a pretty terrible trend.
Donate money so that minorities get to go to expensive private schools for free? Sorry. I have my own kid’s education to pay for.
I give money here in NYC. Ask the Hollywood types to give money.
