MIAMI (AP) -- President Barack Obama says that a slight dip in the unemployment rate to 8.9 percent is a sign of continued progress but that keeping that momentum going is important to the economic recovery.
The government reported Friday that February's jobless rate had fallen to a two-year low, down from 9 percent in January.

I’ll tell ya something else that’ll be progress, but it won’t happen until January 2013.

This is not a surprise. Some folks think these are doctored numbers. I don’t know but whatever the case, I knew that the President was going to use them to his advantage.

The unemployment rate was our fight to win the Presidency. If it lowers 2 more points it will be VERY difficult to beat this fraud.

Obama talking with his rose-colored glasses as unemployment is twice that of President Bush.. a rate that Obama campaigned against for 2 years.

How about the amount of $$ the fed gov is receiving in tax receipts these days? How’s that number looking Baraq?
To: BobSimons
They took thousands and thousands off the records, because they say they were not longer looking for jobs. How they deduce this, I do not know.
Unemployment is about 17 per cent.

So when the unemployment numbers go up it’s progress and when it goes down it’s progress?

Gallup says the unemployment rate is 10.3 percent. I don’t know, maybe it just me, but I tend to believe Gallup over the guvmint.
To: napscoordinator
a couple more points, or a couple more tens of a percent? 8.7 would still be a disaster. I see know way unemployment drops to 6.9 in the next 18 months. If it did, yes, you are right...he’d probably have a good change for 4 more years.

President Barack Obama says that a slight dip in the unemployment rate to 8.9 percent is a sign of continued progressProgress by his numbers-cooking propagandists. Third-party estimates range from 10.3 to 12%. I bet the truth is much closer to those numbers than zer0's.
