NRA Gun Safety Rules will keep you safer :
Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot
Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use

O boy! With warm weather, snake season is about to begin!
My little hammerless .38 is perfect for practising these techniques! Because my hands are small, and control is everything, I’ve had to figure some of these steps out myself. Great fun!!
This grandma has learned to take the head off a snake on the first shot! Love it!!!

Good article ... pretty much what I was taught 20 years ago. It worked then, it works now ... because it just works.
From the article:
Tip: don't be afraid of the recoil--understand and manage it.
Part of managing recoil is making sure your pistol fits your hand. Replacing factory "grips" with aftermarket gear can make the difference between an unmanageable beast and a pussycat. For example, I replaced the bulky wood grips on my S&W 629 (which I simply could not control) with slim rubber Pachmayr grips. Same loads, otherwise same revolver ... now easily controlled and fun to shoot.

If the noise bothers you, get better hearing protection, and focus on the process of hitting the target. That is some seriously poor and litigious advice.

Actually, I don’t need to shoot more accurately. My brothers do though. I kick their @sses every time at the range. I’ll forward it to them.

I’ve been shooting handguns for 25 years. Lots of reading, lots of practice. Even with all that, I learned some valuable things in this piece that I will practice.
GREAT post!!!
