Barack Obama has at least ONE famous Republican supporter ... Nancy Reagan.

The former First Lady of the United States was leaving Spago with her Secret Service team yesterday when a paparazzo asked, "How do you think Obama's doing now?"
Reagan simply replied, "He's doing well."
Obama recently announced that he read a book on Ronald ... we're guessing it scored him a few points with the Gipper's wife.
Ronnie surely is spinning in his grave.
Sounds like she was just being minimally gracious.
She has class, and she was simply being polite.
It was a short answer and she detected some pressure not to go and ignore the idiot.
Not surprised by this at all-now we know who shaped Ron Jr.’s thinking. After all, her comments the day before the 1993 election were credited to have cost Ollie North the senate seat in Virginia.
She wasn’t praising him. She was just giving a noncommittal answer so she could be on her way and avoid controversy. What did you expect her to say?
She’s in her 90’s...I think we can cut her some slack.
Nancy was a very good wife to Reagan. I appreciate that.
She’s elderly, and sick people are bound to exploit her when they can, sickness being what it is, degeneracy being what it is, Democrats being who they are.
This woman is blameless for this, and anyone who would be desperate enough to seek to exploit this, would have instantly revealed just how desperate they were.

Give the lady a break. Some scummy media type took advantage of her to get a soundbite to make 0bama look good.
I am sure that Nancy Reagan is not a policy wonk or even a current events wonk. What was she going to say? “He’s an empty suit and a bum who should be voted out as soon as possible. He’s another Jimmy Carter.”
She is too much of a lady to do that. And I am sure that she remembers every barb directed toward Ronny while he was in office. She just did not want to be mean.
There is absolutely no excuse for Barbour.
I’m surprised the headline wasn’t “Nancy Reagan disses Sarah Palin.”
A simple “He’s doing well” from an old lady is not praise, and even, “He’s a fine politician” is not, IMHO.
Being told you are a good politician is like being told you are a good axe murderer.

I wondered how long it would be before that dragged Nancy Reagan into the fray. They are searching for someone that they think will resonate with the country and change the perception. See?? Nancy Reagan thinks he is doing well or See?? Mike Huckabee thinks Michelle is doing wonderful things etc etc
Problem is...nobody is buying it.
If Obamas goal was to get Republicans elected in 2010 & 2012 and send guns & ammo sales through the roof...
... then indeed he is doing quite well.

Not exactly high praise, in my book.
Kind of like when some acquaintance asks, “How are you?” And you answer, “Fine, thanks.”
Maybe you actually feel kind of rotten, but you can’t very well say that in response to a polite, routine question, can you? Especially if you don’t feel like stopping for a long talk about your ills.
