CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Harry Reid took aim at the world's oldest profession Tuesday, telling state lawmakers the time has come to have an adult conversation about Nevada's legal sex trade if the state hopes to succeed in the 21st century.
The Democratic Senate majority leader's comments before a joint session of the Legislature came as owners, lobbyists and working girls for Nevada's brothel industry looked on from the gallery.

The difference between a prostitute and a politician is that the prostitute provides a service that someone wants.
The sex worker union campaign contribution check either bounced or was insufficient for any special political consideration.
Talk of him being their bag man in his early career makes ya wonder that isn't all he got for his efforts. Ya smells of a shakedown, the question is what do they have on him...
Harry is the corrupt senator depicted in the movie Casino. He didn’t have a problem shaking down prostitutes and casinos back then. He’s moving on to other industries now that he can’t get it up anymore.

This is one of those times where we should play the “What If a Republican Had Said It!” game!
This must mean that there is more money to be made in prostitution by the mob (i.e. Reid backers) if it is illegal.

Harry thinks prostitution has become obsolete? That somehow legal prostitution stands more in the way of Nevada’s progress today than it did 50 years ago?
This is gibberish on substance.
On style points, it’s a big fail too. “Have a conversation . . . “ is a stupid, PC, wimped-out way to say, “The legislature should ban prostitution in Nevada.” Maybe they can all get together and tell each other how they feel about it.
He has lots of experience with screwing people and if Harry can't hump 'em then they don't get the job.
