ARVADA, Colo. -- An 11-year-old Arvada boy was arrested and hauled away in handcuffs for drawing stick figures in school, something his therapist told him to do...
The school was aware that the boy was in treatment, determined he was not a threat, notified his parents and sent him back to class. His mother, “Jane” was shocked when Arvada Police showed up at their home later that night.
She says she told her son to cooperate and tell the truth, but was horrified when they told her they were arresting him and then handcuffed him and hauled him away in a patrol car.

Someone’s probably going to get sued over this vast over-reaction. If the latte liberals take it in the pants through their municipal taxes, I won’t weep a tear.
I’m sure there’s a much less sinister interpretation of what you just said, so I’m going to avoid jumping to the wrong conclusion and simply ask for more details.
Not every sheriff’s department in the land, thankfully, has that kind of chip on their shoulder. I asked a deputy once why he had showed up on my porch and he told me. Someone had reported a disturbance in the neighborhood, he said, and they were looking to see if somebody was hiding in the yard. I said thank you and closed the door. That was it, the deputies finished their apparent quest and were soon gone.

Me too. Neighbor had a burglar alarm - the 90db whoop-whoop kind, not the silent kind - that he'd forget about and routinely set off at all hours of the night. The klaxon was a few feet from my bedroom window, which made things that much worse.
After the third 1am call, I went out and spoke to the police, who obviously were none too happy about dealing with this idiot on a regular basis. Calmly and politely, I explained the situation, explained that my wife and baby and I were upset, and asked if there was anything that could be done about it.
Cop said, "We'll handle it." They made their point - firmly - with my fool neighbor. Either he went to a silent alarm, or started paying attention to what he was doing, as the problem went away.
I wish they could have done the same thing with his #%#%#@%%$^ dogs that barked all the #@$#%@%$ time.
Now, there are those on FR who would say "Hey, it's on his property, jackbooted thugs were threatening him, etc, etc etc etc." I'll tell them to stuff it. The police handled a difficult situation very well, IMHO.
I dunno about the fools who'd arrest an 11 year old for an "improper drawing". I wonder if there's more to the story than what we're hearing.

Yeah, the kid was just commenting on Wisconsin. The teachers were complaining that they must either keep their union bennies or die. So the kid sketched out what Walker was going to do.
