For the past couple of weeks, I've been writing about Republican politicians' birther problem.
Whether or not the issue is one of mere symbolic belief or genuine agreement among large segments of the Republican base, GOP leaders feel obligated to mollify those among their base who believe the outlandish conspiracy theory that president wasn't born in the United States or that he's secretly a Muslim. But now former President George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove has come up with a new conspiracy theory that is less dumb than the original one, but not by much. According to Rove, the White House wants Republicans to continue raising doubts about Obama's citizenship in order to make the GOP look kooky:

The problem, of course, is that at least one recent poll showed that a majority of Republicans have doubts about the president's citizenship, which explains the rise of "post-birtherism." Republican leaders don't want to anger a large section of their base by flatly calling this stuff what it is, which is nuts. So the new approach is to joke about it or to carefully avoid denouncing the idea completely.

The idea that the issue is a "trap" is belied by the ease with which Republican leaders could shut the entire matter down. All they have to do is say it's silly.

The bottom feeders are baaaaack. Right on cue, huh.
Lt. Col. Lakin is imprisoned not only for his own rights, BUT THE RIGHT OF EVERY AMERICAN to be ensured of the legitimacy of the Oval Office occupant destroying this country. Anyone not appreciating L C Lakins's sacrifice is not worthy of being called an American.
As for anyone saying it is a distraction, a waste of time, not an issue........You are trashing the Constitution.
As for those conservatives in the media that are saying they are certain he is qualified.....What verifiable information have you received that YOU are hiding from the American people?????
The author has clearly seen the birth certificate Obama keeps in the safe; perhaps, then, he would be so kind as to share a copy with the rest of us.
I would say snopes engages in ‘sleight of hand.’ If you read Paragraph 7 under “Origins,” it begins with the term ‘natural born citizen,’ moves on to the 14th Amendment qualifications for ‘citizen,’ dances back, and concludes that Obama is a natural born citizen. AS IF there is no difference between ‘citizen’ and ‘natural born citizen.’
Further down they refer to the Obama campaign releasing a birth ‘document’ but not a full birth certificate, only a certification of live birth, again AS IF the two are the same.
But snopes has always had a left-leaning agenda. Too many folks take snopes’s conclusions as Gospel.
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
I don’t think he is SECRETLY a Muslim, in fact he seems to be rather open about it lately.
[our government]
Our government was overthrown when obama was ‘elected’ which made him Commander in Chief, he can do any damn thing with the military he pleases.
That certainly includes throwing any of them under a bus.
Many have made bc requests for all the names he could have used (Dunham, Obama, Soetoro, Davis) as well as various spellings of those. Hawaii has released the computer generated index of Dunham/Obama marriage, however they won't show the original filing or the original handwritten index or anything showing the date it was originally filed. It's probably over at butterdezillion's site.
How could Dunham been legally married to Obama if Obama was already married. Even Obama has said that he doesn’t know if his parents were ever legally married. He said that he never looked into it because he didn’t want to go there.
Meahwhile - as these idiots laugh - the numbers of birthers have increased from 25% to over 50% of the population. On the way to 75% and more.
At what point will these morons stop laughing? When they are hauled off in handcuffs?
[And unless and untill we focus on the birther issue - nothing will change.]
You just became a huge fan of the regime...that’s exactly what they are counting on.
Snopes states, “Since Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, they do not apply to him.”
Snopes was referring to the 14th Amendment on laws governing US residence, etc. That’s all well and good, except they state his birthplace of Hawaii as fact. No one but the usurper himself knows if that is a fact or not. Snopes bases their entire argument on this percieved “fact” which renders the argument total garbage.
Well, there ya go. His entire life is either a shame or a lie but nowhere is there any truth.
Maybe this is just a trivial and arbitrary requirement of the Constitution. But I don't believe they give a damn about an any iota of it much less than actually protecting and defending it.
When you are over the target...
We all want stuff. I wanted Clinton impeached. He was impeached. But not convicted.
Do you honestly think we could get enough evidence and get it past the msm to get Obama impeached. It would be interesting theater, but it won’t happen.
"Stephonopolous and David Gregory are going bonkers trying to shut down the inquiry. Obviously, were on to something."
Lawrence O'Donnell wasn't the first I remember going bonkers with badgering Republicans about DUh-bama's 'moo-slem faith' even though they'd never said anything publicly about it. With this muck flak, I'd say there's something to the two issues (birth/religion) and the DNC media know it....
Since JACKASSES cannot run on a record of accomplishment, theyve conducted focus groups with rabid LIEberals and think it's a winning issue for them and they can garner enough votes for a win by painting their opposition as birther kooks.
