Islamic Antichrist? See the book Glenn Beck raves about

Fox News talk show host Glenn Beck today said Americans should be alarmed over the revelations of a WND Books product, The Islamic Antichrist, in which author Joel Richardson documents the similarities between the "bad guy" of the Bible, the Antichrist, and the "good guy" of the Quran, the Mahdi.

The author contends they are, in fact, the same.

"You have to look at this, really ask yourself, 'Wow, is this true?'"Beck said.

He also cited the Islamic teachings that some Muslims like Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believe – that they can speed the coming of the Madhi, their end-times savior, by creating chaos, from which they expect him to emerge.

Beck, applying such a belief to Christianity, suggested, "What do you say we go start slaughtering people so Jesus will come back."

Read it for yourself, "The Islamic Antichrist."

Richardson's book discusses his analysis of the Bible's account of the end times and that of the Quran, including his conclusions about the "Antichrist," who is described by the Bible as the ultimate enemy of God and His people, the Jews and Christians. The Mahdi, meanwhile, in Islam is forecast to be someone who comes to establish a worldwide Islamic caliphate.

Beck cited a number of similarities between the prophecies, that of Jesus from the Bible and of the Mahdi in the Islamic tradition.

"You have the bad guy of the Bible, he primarily persecutes God's people, Jews and Christians," Richardson said. Meanwhile the "12th imam," or Islam's Mahdi, "causes Jews and Christians to submit to Islam or be killed."

Both prophecies call for a time of rule of 7 years, a leader of the world who makes peace with Israel, then breaks the accord, then invades Israel and kills nonbelievers, setting up a seat of government on the Temple Mount.

Obama’s name is associated with the 7th imam. There was an article a few years ago saying that some Iranian clerics were saying that Obama is the prophesied forerunner of the Mahdi. I can’t seem to find that article, but when I googled for it, I did find a comment I made on a thread a few years ago:

The strange thing is that he DOES resemble the Antichrist, and I’m [not] much of a fan of anticipating the last days.

He himself said stuff like, “We are the One we’ve all been waiting for,” and also said that when he raised his hands, the waters would recede. And on and on, climaxing in his Berlin speech. Then when that got a lot of negative reactions instead of the worship he evidently expected, his speech writers grew a little more careful.

One possibility is that he has modeled himself on the traditional descriptions of the Antichrist, because who else offers a better model for gaining power over the world? Another possibility is that he takes his own name seriously, since it comes from one of the early Shiite Imams, and suggests the immanent return of the Last Imam. That’s what Muslims think about when they think about Messiahs. Not Jesus, but the Mahdi.

Louis Farrakhan specifically called Obama the Messiah in a sermon to his congregation recently, and Farrakhan isn’t talking about Christian Messiahs. No heresy has ever been more successful and more damaging to the world than Islam, so it might be that the Mahdi, as Muslims would name him, will be the same person as the Christian Antichrist.

There was a news story a few weeks ago saying that the leading Mullahs in Iran believe that Obama is the forerunner to the Mahdi, the One who will prepare the way for him and make his road straight. They looked at his name, they looked at his behavior, they listened to him, and that is what THEY came up with and apparently believe. They say that he fulfills their ancient prophecies. Curious, indeed.

I’m reading Joel Rosenberg’s book “The Twelfth Imam”, and in it is some on the Mahdi, and that Jesus will be his right hand man, and will make people worship the Imam or die.

Obviously, it will be a false Jesus.
But, wow, a false Prophet called Jesus!!!
Remember, he does tell us their will be false Jesus in the last days. That he is here or he is there. It is amazing.

The Quran is nonsense from beginning to end. But in any event, there’s no mention of a “Mahdi” anywhere in it; most of the world’s Muslim’s consider the idea to be a Shiite heresy.

Here's another of Joel Richardson's books: http://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/JR/Future/index.htm . I read Prophet of Doom (link in my tagline) first and then read Mr. Richardson's writing the link (above) refers to. I think I now have a completely clear picture of what islam is and how it fits into the Biblical end times.

I agree - fantastic book. I read it several years ago in its first inception (he’s updated it and changed the title) and because at the time Glenn was first starting to talk about the 12th imam, I actually sent him an email, the kind of thing I never do, to recommend it. I think he ignored me though, if he’s just now talking about it. :)

Joel Richardson is actually a pseudonym because his family has been threatened seriously enough for him to take steps to protect them.

This book has been out a while and it is a fascinating read. Another exquisite must read book is Robert Reily’s “The Closing of the Muslim Mind”.

Don’t need a new book to point out the obvious.

From Chapter 4 from the link in my post upthread:

Among the Major Signs, the most anticipated and central sign that Muslims are awaiting is the coming of a man known as, “The Mahdi.” In Arabic, al-Mahdi means, “The Guided One” 1 He is also sometimes referred to by Shi’a Muslims as Sahib Al-Zaman or Al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar which translated mean “The Lord of the Age” and “The Guided/Awaited One.” The Mahdi is the first of the Major Signs. This is confirmed by Ibn Kathir, the renowned Muslim scholar from the eighth century:

As a Christian, I know the koran is false but over one billion people follow it faithfully, many more don't realize the evil it represents. Personally, after reading Prophet of Doom and Will Islam Be Our Future? several times, I believe islam was inspired by satan and mohammed was his messenger. I view the islamic 'allah' as satan.

Understanding that the koran's writings are false, the 'return' of the islamic jesus, mahdi and mohammed, from an islamic perspective will never happen. The Christian polar opposites of the islamic jesus and mohammed will arise, the False Prophet and Antichrist. The 'mahdi' is the fictitious islamic agent that will supposedly usher in the 'return' of the other two. While observant Christians will recognize the False Prophet and Antichrist, I believe that moslems will assume them to be the islamic jesus and mohammed. It took me a bit of reading to understand it but it makes total sense now. Again, Joel Richardson's book and Prophet of Doom were real eye-openers.

It’s too bad that Beck is learning Islam and in particular Shia Islam and the Mahdi. This is not new news. I’m sure that Beck will come out with the fact that the muslim believers of this branch of Islam also believe that Christ will return and be right BEHIND THE MAHDI. It’s too bad that the lamestream media doesn’t learn the basic concepts of islam.

well Glenn Beck is doing good shows. But sometimes, websites like this one have been ahead of him and exposed it before hand. However, his take is unique and also his he has at pointed out things in shows I didn’t know. Like the one on Edward Bernays.

I think he is right that there are three groups wanting global domination - United Nations and friends pushing a new world order, Communists/Socialists/Statists wanting to destroy capitalism and finally Islam and the implementation of the Caliphate and Sharia Law.

SO at times he reinforces what I already knew.
