Oil industry leaders delivered a stinging rebuke of the production tax that became a hallmark of Gov. Sarah Palin's administration, telling a legislative committee Wednesday that it has discouraged investment and made Alaska a less attractive place to do business.
Representatives of BP Alaska, ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil and Pioneer Natural Resources said the tax cut and expanded tax credits proposed by Palin's successor, Gov. Sean Parnell, is a positive step toward encouraging greater activity and boosting oil production.

From one pocket to another, it makes sense that the state would want to tap into this revenue since this is a primary industry in Alaska and the government had enabled them in so many ways to extract this oil. Infrastructure, , , ...
What bothers the hell out of me is the road blocks and the huge cost imposed by Washington. It is their state, they should get a say and the Feds should butt out.
We are witnessing the oil industry being partners in crime of robbing Alaska to feed the beast in Washington.
Think Art Laffer
ROFL. Yeah, that’s it. Evil Big Oil
Only in the minds of PDSers like you, pissant. If the feds openned up ANWAR, the line of oil companies to drill there would extend half way to Texas.
But hey, cheer for those crony cr%pitalists who are in bed with the demscum. After all, they hate the right person: Palin.
/hurl
BTW, ping onyx. pissant is up to his/her (I really don’t know) standard PDS garbage.
Well she did tell her Global Warming Group she created to find ways to reduce the states carbon footprint. Taxes on petroleum work nicely.
The unraveling rages on.Exxon posted record profits while she was Governor troll.
Did you like the fact she asked her global warming flunkies to find out how Alaska could enter into a cap and trade system?
Bobby Jindal has been good to them
Palin was the first one to put them back in their place, she didn't roll over. She gave them 3 billion in tax breaks from 2006-2010. Now Parnell wants to give them 10 billion over nx 10 years and they won't even be satisfied with that. Actually, they want us to pay them to take that dirty oil outta the ground and get rid of it for us.
Every political up here from nearly every party gets money from oil industry, reality. Pretty hard to be as honest as Palin was. I read that Ak has 50-60 billion stashed away in funds and 86 billion of oil still in the ground. The state could make it another 10 years without raising any taxes on Alaskans. Eventually, the oil will be in demand and somebody will want it.
I'd trust Palin's judgment over big oil hands down. Oil industry is trying to push through their big tax break with Gov Parnell who use to be their lobbyist and me thinks still is. Why do you think the entire legislature is ice cold about Parnell's new tax write off idea, even most the Repubs????
Nah, they’re not Evil, just ... Amoral.
I was around for Reagan and Palin is Reagan in High Heels! She is better looking, but Reagan was not in his prime.
Palin is quicker in getting her words out than any politician in the last 50 years, this is a sign she says what she believes! Finally, someone who tells the Truth!
Some people seems to think a woman cant run this country, thats another reason why she needs to be the first woman President!
She would do a lot to hurt the men having sex with men lifestyle, Normal would be back in again! Thats probably the biggest reason that the anti Palin freepers keeping spurring out all the same negatives Reagan lived with, yes, our token liberal democrat Trolls and with their sick lifestyle!
I RETRACT ANYTHING NICE I HAVE EVER SAID, WROTE, POSTED, BLOGGED, THOUGHT OR CONSIDERED ABOUT YOU.
PissAnt ya crossed the line ... critical thinking isn’t your strongest suit, now you are a but a drummer for the PDS Parade.
First buy a clue, then a vowel if you have any points left buy a brain cell to keep the the one you already have company on those lonely lonely nights (it seems you just aren’t enough to keep it occupied)
