A new poll shows just over half of likely Republican primary voters question where President Obama was born. Whats up with birtherism and why does it have such staying power?
The evidence shows Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama released a Certification of Live Birth, a document produced by the state of Hawaii certifying the state holds records that a person was born there.
Further, two Hawaiian newspaper announcements from 1961 tell of Obamas birth. Janice Okubo, a spokeswoman for the Hawaii Department of Health, told the Honolulu Advertiser in July 2009 that such newspaper announcements were based on notifications from the Health Department, which received information directly from hospitals.
The certification of live birth Obama released is legally sufficient documentation to apply for a U.S. passport, but its not the same thing as a long form birth certificate, called a Certificate of Live Birth in Hawaii. That document is issued by hospitals and includes additional information not on the certification.

EVIDENCE?, What evidence? Show Me!
“Earth to birthers: the facts about Obamas birth certificate”
Horse hockey!
One of the problems is that his mother never lived at the address given in the newspaper announcements. and his grandmother had access to info. He needs to release his info to put this to rest, one way or the other.
Isn’t it interesting to see how they are able to co-ordinate their message?
All week we’ve been hit with ‘birther’ stories, starting with the grilling of Speaker Boehner on the Sunday talk shows.
Obama is catch8ing heat for his massive budget, so this makes for a nice diversion. These people are sick!
Bump
Do you have any connection to the daily caller?
Perjorative headline.
My experience is that starting off by insulting people I’m trying to persuade is always an effective tactic—NOT!
A little late to the game aren’t you Jonathan! Geez, do some research will ya!
None.
So release the damn thing and lets get this behind us already.
if this article was intended to put the controversy to rest it has done the opposite. based on what is written in the blogg, there is no question an issue exists with the “long form” and that it should be released. i cant believe it hasnt been leaked. must be under triple lock down by somebody.
IMO of more interest than Obama's place of birth is how he came to have a Pakistani passport, or how such a mediocre student gained admission to two Ivy league schools, or exactly who funded his education, etc.
There're alot of other unanswered questions that would resonate loudly in the coming election.
His dad was a British subject, that means his son is also.
End of story.
Could the title of the article be any more insulting?
Tell Jonathan, That we’ll take his word for it.
But how about ANY of these records?

Where are the doctors, nurses, and other medical staff with their accounts of deliving someone so “historic?”
So "Earth to Birthers" is polite and reasoned? Not it is not. The rest of that article is equally worthless.
Some theories:
1) Obama’s mom is really is sister while his granddad is really his father with the mother being a early 60’s version of a crack whore.
2) Dad is Frank Marshall Davis
3) Dad is unknown
4) Dad is Malcolm X which would explain why so many people have helped Obama
5) Obama had duel citizenship
