A new poll shows just over half of likely Republican primary voters question where President Obama was born. What’s up with “birtherism” and why does it have such staying power?
The evidence shows Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. During the 2008 presidential campaign, Obama released a “Certification of Live Birth,” a document produced by the state of Hawaii certifying the state holds records that a person was born there.
Further, two Hawaiian newspaper announcements from 1961 tell of Obama’s birth. Janice Okubo, a spokeswoman for the Hawaii Department of Health, told the Honolulu Advertiser in July 2009 that such newspaper announcements were based on notifications from the Health Department, which received information directly from hospitals.
The certification of live birth Obama released is legally sufficient documentation to apply for a U.S. passport, but it’s not the same thing as a “long form” birth certificate, called a “Certificate of Live Birth” in Hawaii. That document is issued by hospitals and includes additional information not on the certification.

Please cite one Supreme Court case..where it was affirmed a natural born Citizen is born to an alien or alien parents.

I don’t post very much at all, but do follow the threads on Obama eligibility...you have a huge fan here.
After studying at the U. of Leningrad back in the 1970’s, I have this oh-no-not-again feeling. The posts by folks like Curiosity et alii are contemporaneous analogs of the type of defensive arguments I used to hear protective of the Soviets. Very sad.
When mendacity, disinformation, corruption and self-deception are this widespread, the time is short. I thought Bubba Rex and Hillary Regina were enough to awaken the American people to the danger. No. And now, even the consummate fraud, Obama, still has a 48% approval.
Please feel free to Freepmail me. There may be something I can do to support you. But again, Mr. Yeats knew: “...what rough beast, its hour come ‘round at last...” Obama is a shabby type of what is coming on a global scale. Still, we must press the fight. The victory is the Lord’s.

This is a losing issue for Barry Soetoro/Obama. Every day—not every week; Every Day—more people become ‘birthers’. Meaning, they wonder what he’s hiding. Why does he refuse to show simple documents that all other Americans must show? Everyone can understand it. Even when people like Gregory and Matthews freak out and try to paint ‘birthers’ as nutbags, the average person is unconvinced. Instead, they think, ‘Why doesn’t he just show the BC, and put it all behind him?’.
We’ve said for a long time now that this issue will reach critical mass. It’s not there yet, but we’re getting closer every day.
Robert Gibbs says “we” decided to post it. It was posted on KOS first, then a slightly different version of it on Obama’s own campaign site (which should tell everybody something right there). Obama’s lawyers have asked a judge to take judicial notice of Factcheck’s article saying the Factcheck COLB was genuine.
Obama had a legal responsibility to tell everyone that it was a forgery. He didn’t do so, thus violating the Federal General False Statement Act.
The question is why he did that, if he in fact wanted to keep people guessing about the facts of his birth.

Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. My father-in-law was very somber the last time he was to visit us, last summer. He said he sees the same dynamics in place as brought on the depression and WWII. Says it feels very, very similar.
I know there are those who feel strongly against Orly Taitz, and I don’t have enough knowledge to know about her qualifications or the quality of her work, but I sense in her an urgency because she, too, has seen what is ahead if we don’t do something to change the course America is on.
I’ve listened to Yuri Bezmenov (a former KGB operative who defected to the US) talking about the process of subversion, beginning with demoralization, then destabilization, then crisis, and finally “normalization” (the communist state). It’s eerie to see how systematically they have picked off all our infrastructure right under our noses, by getting strategic, powerful people in each pillar of the society to align with them.
The eligibility issue has shown me that the boa is very tight around our neck and that the people who desperately need to fight for the life of this nation are sleeping comfortably, angry at those of us trying to wake them up, calling us crazy.
The media are the Sirens, very much wanting to lull everybody into going right back to sleep. They have no clue what will happen to them once the regime has no need of the “useful idiots”. Bezmenov says they will be the first to be lined up against the wall and shot, and he cited examples where that was exactly the case.
I think there are people in the media who are starting to see what’s going on. They don’t yet understand enough to know that they have nothing to lose, that the worst they can imagine if we deal with this is not even close to what will happen if we refuse to deal with it.
What happened to Lara Logan was terrible. But she and others need to realize that what happened there was a shadow of what is to come if the communo-Islamist alliance that the media has been flirting with comes to full global power as they are attempting right now. Obama has one foot firmly in the communist camp and another firmly in the Islamist camp. His owner, Soros, is the union of communism and Islamism, and so is Obama. Ayers, Dohrn, Code Pink, etc are allying themselves with the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, etc.
These forces saw just how weak and apathetic the American public was in November of 2008, and that was the go-ahead signal to go in for the kill. We cannot afford to be asleep.
I keep coming back to David facing Goliath. We have our stones and our sling, and it seems hopeless against such a powerful enemy. But the Lord can give us courage to step up to battle, a sharp stone for our sling, and intervention to put the stone where it can fell the lawless giant. It truly is in His hands. As long as I have the strength I will be choosing my stones carefully, swinging my sling stubbornly, and praying God to have mercy on a foolish but slowly awakening land.
In the “old days” when a baby was adopted, a newspaper anouncement was placed in order to help conceal the fact the child was adopted. This was in the pre-DNA test days.

We are marginalized to the extreme by the delusionals. To them we are “the untouchables” of the Hindu Castes; the ‘Dalits’ or Broken People. They don’t have to hear what we say, our ‘facts’ mean nothing, we can be given no hearing in any official process.
I was once convicted of a crime because the Judge refused to accept evidence that exonerated me. That taught me something about the oppression of truth in an American courtroom, via process rules. I appealed and got a de novo hearing and was exonerated — but even that Judge refused to accept the evidence, but took my testimony as more truthful than my accusers, and maybe because I had hired a lawyer with reasonably good connections for that hearing. Sadly, in my county the law is ruled for the connected, in the case of the unconnected vs the connected. I am more connected now. But at that time I was a new resident of little evident means — like out-caste who could be ignored and scorned with impunity — and was so in a PUBLIC COURTROOM HEARING — with impunity, now I am friend (or enemy) of the most powerful in my county.
{I was accused and arrested for criminal trespass on land I to which I had a title easement, they refused to accept my land title as evidence. The crime of “defiant trespass” in my state requires mens re. Since I THOUGHT I had a right to be on that property, it didn’t meet mens re. Boy was I pissed. In the end the arresting officer came to apologize personally to me, but the initial judge ... best to say nothing.)
That these are insane times is clear in how fierce to ignore and scorn us — we who ask only to have an honest hearing on this man Obama’s bonafides — how long and continued has been that irrational reaction by the elites, how it is everywhere! Even when a majority of the public doubt his claims.
It is a social inversion. The people cry out for truth and justice, the elite are vicious and adamant in denying it.
The power of the connected often is held by, and continues in force by, the ruthless application of that connectedness against the unconnected. By that the connected come to know — stay connected! Or else, be a nothing, be ground under an uncaring wheel of the juggernaut. And nothing is as ruthless and effective as a proof of connectedness, of being among the important, than a proof that demands whole fealty to a bold lie.

Are you claiming that Obama had the Nordykes showed their long-forms and the HDOH clarified that the BC# was given by the HDOH on the “date filed” so everybody would know the Factcheck COLB is forged.... so he could keep this issue going?

Has anyone else verified that the ‘newspaper announcemsnet” were real? I seem to recall some discussion that they were faked.
And newpaper announcements ALONE would almost be enough- but fake ones would make me think for sure it is all a lie
