As Mary Elizabeth Williams wrote earlier this evening over at Salon, several reporters and bloggers have decided to hinge the story of Lara Logans rape on the blond reporters looks. Simone Wilsons LA Weekly post mocks Logans beauty, saying, Egyptian protesters apparently consummated their newfound independence by sexually assaulting the blonde reporter. Consummated? Unconscionable.
The Mofo Politics blog featured a post on February 3rd, saying, OMG if I were her captors and there were no sanctions for doing so? I would totally rape her.

Understatement of the year.
Remember when there were genuinely informative adult discussions here? One could always tap into knowledge and knowledge-based opinions on important domestic and foreign policy issues. These conversations were the norm. Ugliness, bile and ignorance were once rare. Now the balance has reveresed.
To 6 - You’re a swine.
She has a dangerous job. Many men and women have dangerous jobs. For example, we have many police women out there. If one gets shot, do we say, “well, you shouldn’t be a cop!”
No, we don’t. We offer due sympathy and respect.
Read Kos before you slam the freepers.
OMG if I were her brother or husband and there were no sanctions for doing so? I would totally [deal with] the Egyptian rapist thugs . . . and I'd do do the same for this disgusting blogger. The kind of person who would rape without sympathy simply because he could get away with it, the type who would admit such a disgusting disrespect for another human being, is permanently outside the bounds of those who can be trusted or respected in any way.
Oooh an “asshole?” You can’t come up with anything better than that?
That’s your opinion.
And I have zero sympathy for your lack of sentence structure.
As Rush says, “Tigers will be tigers” (i.e. seventh century savages will be seventh century savages)
My statement shows how sarcastic I am, and disparaging towards libs who would excuse or dismiss that the “large part of the world that does not share Americans’ view on right and wrong” are themselves wrong.
I never said she “deserved” it. I just said that if she is going to be in with the Homo Habilis, she assumes the risk. This was a consequence of her decision to be out among the sub-primates.
How do you improve on Perfection?
So go ahead and give me a C, libhole.
Apples and oranges. In part, police officers work to PREVENT crimes being commited and to prevent thugs from harassing decent, hardworking citizens.
The criminal liberal news media works every day for the destruction of America from within.
If you want to jump into the monkey cage at the zoo, that’s fine. I will still call you an idiot and mock you after the monkeys tear you apart.
I think that was Whoopie Goldberg
If you’re gonna tell me that reporters are criminals and that not a one of them deserves basic human decency, then we have nothing more to say to each other. This woman was not a criminal. She was out there trying to do a dangerous job. Morality and justice are for everyone, not just for the people you like.
Sorry if I misunderstood your original post to me. I have no doubt that Kos people are part evil and part stupid. But I don’t expect to find that kind of thing here.
Congradulations on the most coherant statement in this subject
No- she didn’t DESERVE to be raped, but she did put herself into a dangerous situation.
And the blind support of “The Won” Obambi played no small part in the reason why she was there.
