CBS Los Angeles reporter Serene Branson has reportedly been taken to hospital for tests after stumbling incomprehensibly over her words during a Grammy's broadcast.
After being introduced from the studio, Branson began "Well a very, very...", before mispronouncing "heavily". Trying again, she was still unable to get the word out and continued with a train of unintelligible sounds.
It is feared that she may have suffered a stroke on air.

Every video of this has been pulled. CBS even pulled it off a CBS site.

I did not know she is but watched the video. Very sad. It appears she was totally unaware that her words were completely scrambled. She also seems quite young for a stroke or at least not in the age one would think a stroke would happen.

Looked like a stroke. Left side of her mouth seemed to droop after her first word.
Prayers for a quick recovery!

Link worked above.
Sad, very sad.

Saw some guy post on another board that this happened to his ex-wife at about the same age. Her doctor took the ex off birth control pills and it never happened again, he said.

It has been speculated that Branson might have suffered a transient ischemic attack, or TIA, that caused aphasia altered speech patterns. A TIA is caused by a temporary blockage or disturbance of blood supply to an area of the brain and causes stroke-like symptoms. TIAs can be precursors or warning signs for full-blown strokes that may occur in the future.

This is clearly a case of fluent aphasia. Too bad.

I know exactly what that feels like. I have had two of these events, right after the birth of my second child by c-section. I didn't know anything was wrong until I went to speak. All I could get out was, “something wrong. head” the rest was well I don't know what it was, but I couldn't speak. It passes within a few minutes. It is an utterly bizarre sensation. Its frightening, because right at that instant, you can't understand what is wrong, only that something is.
I hope she recovers, these sorts of ischemic strokes can mean larger problems, but they can also occur for other reasons which are entirely treatable. I am lucky, I have never had another one.
