"A week from Tuesday, when the Supreme Court returns from its midwinter break and hears arguments in two criminal cases, it will have been five years since Justice Clarence Thomas has spoken during a court argument."
"If he is true to form, Justice Thomas will spend the arguments as he always does: leaning back in his chair, staring at the ceiling, rubbing his eyes, whispering to Justice Stephen G. Breyer, consulting papers and looking a little irritated and a little bored. He will ask no questions."
"In the past 40 years, no other justice has gone an entire term, much less five, without speaking at least once during arguments, according to Timothy R. Johnson, a professor of political science at the University of Minnesota. "

And most of his written decisions and dissents are marvels of clarity in reasoning.
They are attempting to create something, any kind of a controversy they hope will grow large enough to force a resignation before the Kenyan leaves office in Jan 2013.

That a conservative forum entertains a poster that sneers at Justice Clarence Thomas as an 'affirmative action hire' is troubling, consider the man's cogent, conservative, constitutionally-based judicial opinions handed down over the years. Clarence Thomas may not waste a lot of time engaging in oral arguments for show but he certainly is far from a 'token' on the high court. America is fortunate to have this good man as a Supreme Court Justice.
And rightly so.
Excellent graphic! Love it!
>>>There is a deliberate, co-ordinated attack of Justice Thomas going on right now in the media and the Soros funded puppetry.<<<
bingo. They are trying hard to invalidate his upcoming Obamacare vote— Wife’s income, conflict of interest re United Citizen, , etc. —
smells of desperation.
I’ve seen enough of his writings on decisions - TOTAL BRILLIANCE. Just because he’s staying out of the Debating Society does not mean anything more than he’s staying out of the Debating Society.
“Do you really think that he would have got the job were he not black? Was he really one of the great legal minds? Of course not. The man votes well but he was nowhere near the most qualified person for the job and would not have got it were he not a negro.”
That doesn’t work here.
We’re not that easy to bait.
And we are NOT racists.
(p.s., say hi to the glee club for me)

EXACTLY. They are SCARED TO DEATH that the Court will make some sane rulings for once and are trying everything they can to stop it.
I saw a place online a few days ago that made me furious and I wish I’d kept track of the url but it was a left wing petition to impeach Thomas.I wasn’t aware that you could do that so didn’ keep the link.
TROLL ALERT!
He’s not an affirmative action “hire”. That’s absurd. That said, I do have a problem with him not speaking during arguments. And I do have a problem with his decision on the Monsanto seed-saving case. Otherwise, he’s fine, and has a solid Conservative record.
Yes sir !
I’ll never pass a chance to say a good word about Justice Thomas !

Let’s just work for getting 0bama out in 2013 and then a new POTUS can appoint Janice Rogers Brown, a true conservative and rational person to counter Sotomayer and Kagan.
The outright attacks on constitutional principle will meet a dedicated warrior in Justice Thomas, and the attackers attempts to minimize his effectiveness by planting such ideas as these are transparent and reveal their own paucity of understanding and meanness of spirit.
Read his opinions.
If it is documented that he never says anything, they can't dare make something up and pretend he said it.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
That graphic is glorious!
I agree with Thomas that the oral argument phase is largely show. If the judges are all thinking of what they’re going to say or ask next, they won’t be listening.
