The trailer for Atlas Shrugged Part 1 has finally been released!
Well, I screwed that formatting up. The last line about the email address to forward theater info to, that was in the posting on the website, not something I’m doing.
“Add to that, you can bet it will find itself under attack to keep it from a general release.”
If the attacks are from the main stream (Marxist) media, then they’ll generate more buzz for the film than any advertising could buy.
thanks for the links!!!
Lots of people in the book richly deserved destruction. But she didn't intentionally destroy anyone, nor did any of the people who wound up in the Gulch despite the name she gave to Galt. Maybe one could say Francisco did or Ragnar did but even there it would be a stretch.

Outstanding! The trailer looks pretty good.
This would also be a good project for local tea parties to undertake, arrange with a local theater for a screening night, just to get the buzz going. IIRC, churches did that with the movie ‘Fireproof’, and it had a great impact on getting the movies seen by a lot more people when it was first released.

Another problem: no A-list actors. In fact, some of the actprs have that “soft-core porn” look to them.
Agree; the trailer looks disappointing. Too plastic, I can’t relate to the characters (actors chosen), and the dialogue seems wooden though the Message is an important one.
I say all this, as a life-long Libertarian and huge fan of Ayn Rand’s philosophy and works.
Sorry
What a fun ‘trivia’ fact! thanks for that.
gotta love it!

Oooh, goody! It’s in COLOR!
Rand liked action movies and this has the feel of one. Let’s hope the theme doesn’t get lost in the action.
GREAT - thanks
This is exaclty how we did it with RESTREPO - to great success - all the way to the oscars
Sure thing. Graham once debated his brother on “Hannity.”
KM: Dagny is always played by a young Barbara Stanwick in my head, I dont know why.
nmm: Holy Crap! Me TOO!
668: Stanwyck and Ayn Rand were pals. FWIW.
Thanks for the links.
hmmm
for one, if the lead roles were played by mega stars - it would likely have diluted the story as the stars persona would've overshadowed the role.
As an example of NOT have Hollywood's hands on it - the documentary war film, RESTREPO, done independently by Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington - on their own dime - won the top award at it debut at Sundance, Jan 2010.
It was picked up and released in limited theaters to rave reviews - then broadcast on TV - now on DVD everywhere and just been nominated for an Academy Award.
Unlike all the other ‘War movies” = the ‘stars’ are the Sky Soldiers themselves. Raw war footage as is happens. No politics, no agenda, NO HOLLOW-WOOD It spoke to the people - and the people pushed it to the top.
That’s right. He was also the dry cleaner visionary in The Man Who Wasn’t There!
So true.
They don't seem to learn, no matter how many times they shoot themselves in their own feet
