Mubarak has stepped down, per a short statement from Vice President Suleiman. Crowds going wild in the streets.
How long until Obama takes credit for this???
I don’t see why the military can’t just go in and start rounding individuals up and putting them in soccer stadiums or concentration camps until the unrest dies down. Then sort through them and let some go, slowly, gradually. The ringleaders leave toes up.
Ahmanutjob in Iran has just put his two drachmas in as well ---
Hosni Mubarak resigns: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hails 'a new Middle East'
“From The Telegraph (UK):
“Hosni Mubarak resigns: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hails ‘a new Middle East’ Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday claimed the uprising in Egypt and removal of Hosni Mubarak heralded a new Middle East without the “satanic” influence of the West and that will doom Israel.”
Still feeling hopeful?”
Yep, I can discern the difference between propaganda and facts...facts are the Iranian government is quaking in their sandals...
“Hey, were watching this too... revolution has a way of spreading. The Great Insurrection has begun.”
Maybe Obama can hear us now??? This is a wakeup call for all tyranny and also for freedom loving people everywhere! We do have the power to cut our chains.
see Bluelancer’s link to Iran’s reaction. They aren’t quaking, they are ululating along with you.
What happens when the mob sobers up tomorrow, and realizes that nothing has really changed but for the face in the top office?
I have to hand it to you, Wpin, it’s always sunny in your world...
good question.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The radical U.S. socialist and communist are working with the Islamic socialists. Both want some form of socialism, so they've teamed up to reach that end. Each one thinks it's using the other. In the end, though, only one can come out on top - and that will be radical Islam. The radicals from the U.S. think they're smarter and will eventually rule, but they're wrong. The left is too dumb to realize how dumb it really is.
manc, what you sent really is not going to change my mind anyway...I understand what is going on fully. You have a very limited view, as many others here, have on what has been going on over there and what is happening. The ONLY chance we have to defeat Islamic terrorism is by having what we are having right now...what we need right now is for our government to help influence the outcome...let’s see what happens now. I am hopeful and I simply refuse to deny people a chance for freedom from tyranny, it goes against everything I believe in.
What if they sink an oil tankr in the middle of the canal? Oil is a fungible commodity. If the Suez is blocked, the euros start bidding up the price of the rest of the supply.
What if they block the Suez Canal and the Straits of Hormuz simultaneously? What if Iran declares the Straits a no-go zone and threatens to nuke Israel if anyone defies them?
I don’t worry about the Saudis as much. The House of Saud doesn’t have any compunctions about killing and they know how to keep it on the down-low. I hate having to support the originators of wahhabism, but that’s realpolitic.
The death of Sadat was the death of freedom in the middle east just as the death of King was the death of racial harmony in the US, just as the death of Gandhiji was the death of freedom in India.
Well, I guess that's the part that most of us seem to having the most confusion about...
What facts have you presented to lead to your outburst of girlish optimism for what the outcome of this will be? History doesn't bear you out. Recent proclamations by representatives of the Moslem Brotherhood and other radical elements of Islam shouldn't be anything to give you comfort. Your facts seem to be nothing more than the pastel vaporings of your feelings and hopes.
Solid past history in this part of the world directly conflicts with where you see this going. Those are facts, empirical facts that have been borne out time and time and time again in this area of the world. By the time you realize and admit your mistaken optimism, events in this part of the world will pass you by and you can mourn your lost innocenceat your leisure.
“see Bluelancers link to Irans reaction. They arent quaking, they are ululating along with you.”
Here are actual facts, watch their actions rather than what propagandists say...

1) Wouldn't look good in the media
2) Wouldn't fit the "Democracy Movement" narrative everybody is forced to work under now that it has been imposed by the same media.
“I have to hand it to you, Wpin, its always sunny in your world...”
I learned a long time ago that if one allows their fears to overcome their thinking...they have lost.
Time will tell. I've been praying for the best, but expecting the worse. Sorry, but I can't be as optimistic as you.
The Flying Wallendas were pretty fearless
“Time will tell. I’ve been praying for the best, but expecting the worse. Sorry, but I can’t be as optimistic as you.”
I am hopeful and have faith in the power of liberty...in other words I actually buy into the American philosophy...
I am a lawyer. I live in a pragmatic world of law and facts. Pragmatic concern based on facts are what my viewpoint here is based on, not on unrealistic hopes and feel good wishes.
