Saudis told Obama to back Mubarak
The Times ^ | 2-10-2011 | Hugh Tomlinson

Saudi Arabia has threatened to prop up President Mubarak if the White House tries to force a swift change of regime in Egypt. In a testy personal telephone call on January 29, King Abdullah told President Obama not to humiliate Mr Mubarak and warned that he would step in to bankroll Egypt if the US withdrew its aid programme, worth $1.5 billion annually. America’s closest ally in the Gulf made clear that the Egyptian President must be allowed to stay on to oversee the transition towards peaceful democracy and then leave with dignity. “Mubarak and King Abdullah are not just allies, they are close friends, and the King is not about to see his friend cast aside and humiliated,” a senior source in the Saudi capital told The Times.

Realize that the Saudi King can scratch a check for 1.5 billion out of just one of his many ‘checking accounts’ and never notice the rounding error.

It’s bad when the King of SA knows more about American interests than the occupant in the Oval Office.

The Saudis are evil pieces of sh*t but they’re smarter than our Dear Leader, who has his head so far up his butt he’ll never get it out.

He won’t pay attention to the wishes of the American people he’s meant to represent; he won’t pay attention to precedent, to well-established American foreign policy; but he’ll listen to, and bow to, a foreign king? If the Saudis indeed financed his Harvard education, they really purchased more than they ever imagined, seems to me.

How embarrassing. The Saudi government has a better grip on reality than our White House and State Department.

It seems to me that The Messiah's first reaction to the Soros-funded and promoted revolution there was to say "we want Democracy in Egypt", and threw his support behind the scandal-plagued El Baradi....then, when the "Revolution" faltered, it seemed he backed off and now we find he backed off due to the Saudi's TELLING HIM to back off (the ones he bowed to when he went there).

The State Run Media is espousing the "consistent responses" line and we're supposed to believe them??????

The Saudis have weighed in.Any sensible person would listen, but not a liberal fascist like Obama.

I am glad Obama will not listen to the Saudis, it means Obama is a "short timer."

You’re a pantomime president and you’ve got Soros on the teleprompter and King Abdullah on the telephone. What to do. What to do.

I'll say!

He wrote the check for the first Gulf War.

That's what happens when you have an administration run by children.
